Gossip Girl is my guilty pleasure- their clothes and style, the drama, I love it, even though Season 5 was downright horrible! I wish I could go to New York right now and hunt the cast! Blair Waldorf (played by Leighton Meester) is my absolute favourite character.Her wedding makeup was talked amongst many, and I wanted to try it out. To be honest, I didn’t really like her look for her wedding (except for her lipgloss), especially her hair- but what do you expect, she married the wrong man! I think her look would be more suitable…for a day out or a night out. And I didn’t like her hair.

Ah, Chanel makeup. Something I don’t have. I’m going to try to re-create something similar with mostly drugstore items. 🙂 You don’t need to be as rich as Blair Waldorf to glam up! I was getting bored of my usual routine when I do slap something on my face, which is usually just eyeliner and mascara, Urban Decay’s sin eyeshadow, and a lip colour.

The materials I used – Urban Decay Naked Palette, Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush, Revlon Lip Butter, Bare Minerals lipgloss, Red Earth eyeshadow, Maybelline 24 hour colour tattoo eyeshadow, Essence Liquid Eyeliner, Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch, Almay undereye concealer, Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes mascara (not in picture.)

For the eyes, Blair uses pink eyeshadow on the lid and brown in the crease + eyeliner + false eyelashes! I didn’t wear any falsies, so I used my Lancome Hynose Doll Lashes mascara. On the lid, I used Red Earth’s eyeshadow trio compact (pink.) I have no idea what brand Red Earth is, but it’s my mom’s and she never uses it ever. I used the middle, sparkly pink eyeshadow on the lid, and Buck from Urban Decay Naked Palette on the crease. I used Urban Decay, but a light brown eyeshadow would do.

For the eyeliner, I used Essence Liquid Eyeliner (review here) and Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes from my GWP. (Sorry, the eyeliner is a bit sloppy, and I have flyaway hair everywhere. Thank goodness I wear glasses so my mistakes are usually unnoticeable.)  I also used Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24 hour eyeshadow in Painted Purple underneath the lash line. To brighten my eyes, I put some Almay undereye concealer and Maybelline’s Dream Lumi touch in Radiant (review here.)

For the face,  I skipped primer/foundation because I was lazy and just put some Maybelline Dream Bouncy blush in Hot Tamalie. I dabbed a dot of Maybelline Dream Lumi touch above for the highlight.

For the lips, Blair used a lipgloss with a blue base. I did a bit of google searching and apparently she used Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Pink Pop. Or it could be Chanel, the packaging is a bit too similar! I used Revlon’s Lip Butter in Lollipop + I dabbed a bit of Bare Minerals lipgloss in Birthday Cake (review here.)

I also curled my hair with a hair straightener. For her wedding hair, I’m pretty sure they haphazardly curled her hair and pinned up her bangs, and put her wedding tiara on. I tried putting my bangs up and a white headband, and my mirror pretty much screamed disaster – bangs up + white headband + glasses on a person with bad eyesight and astigmatism = no good!

This process took around 8 minutes to do!

I don’t think the pink eyeshadow suits me well, or not at all, since I’m a total fail at blending still. I do like the purple underneath the eyelid, and glad I didn’t look like I had a black eye. The lips are a tad bit too bright, so I would tone it down (for my skintone.) My hair is a bit messed up from the straightener, so I would use a curler next time. *Sigh* wish I could not wear glasses, but I’m too uncomfortable in contacts!
