How long has it been since my last lipstick post?! I’ve tried many different brands of lipsticks before, and I can’t believe I haven’t used Laura Mercier lip products before! The Laura Mercier Rouge Essentiel Silky Crème Lipstick ($42 CAD) recently arrived at the door and one of the reds, Rouge Profond is perfect for the Autumn transition.
Though I love all things Canadian (Canucks, double double,) I really am not too familiar with many Canadian brands as our cosmetics market is saturated with American and European brands. SST Cosmetics, launched in 2007 and based in Saskatchewan, delivers mineral based cosmetics that are paraben free and talc free. It was nice to try something that’s not mainstream AND that’s good for the skin.
Just because Valentine’s passed doesn’t mean we can’t have kiss ready lips! Lise Watier just released the Baiser Velours collection- 9 different shades of velvet liquid lipstick that delivers intense coverage with a smooth, matte finish. Let’s see if my approval will be sealed with a kiss…

There’s not many times where I can whip out a certain lip colours and strut in confidence, and now is the season to pair dark lips with comfy sweaters, leather boots, and oversized beanies. From a soft plum to deep burgundy, not only could these lip colours be a fashion statement, they might be a good addition to your Halloween costume too, depending what you dress up as of course.
