I got the Dior’s Sweet Chérie Pinks Eye & Lip Palette as a present when my friend was at the airport duty-free shopping! I had no clue that it is now a new product in Sephora! It is part of the Sweet Chérie collection.
What it is:
A lip-and-eye palette in pink and grey shades. What it does:
Create a sweet and feminine look with these four satin and shimmery eye shadows and four lip essentials. Along with an eye shadow brush and lip brush, this set includes a mirrored palette. Embossed with Dior’s iconic cannage pattern and adorned with a signature “D” charm, it is the perfect accessory to create a fun and playful look. This set contains:
– 4 x Eyeshadow in shimmering white, soft pink satin, mauve, smoky grey
– Lip Balm in sheer pink
– 2 x Lip Gloss in rosy pink, strawberry pink
– Lipstick in sheer berry
– Dual-Sided Eyeshadow Brush
– Dual-Sided Lip Brush
It is 7.5 cm x 12 cm- so it is fairly easy to carry around in your purse. It has a magnetic closure and the lid snaps fairly shut. The signature Dior’s Carnage stitching pattern feels simply luxurious; Dior’s packaging always excels.
I have already used it several times before taking pictures, so I could not capture its untouched glory. There is a mirror on the top flap when you open the palette, and the colours are on the bottom. On the left are four eyeshadow shades, one the right are four lip products in a pan (lip balm, 2 x lip gloss, and lipstick.) In the middle is where a dual sided lip brush and eyeshadow brush is located.
The middle section with the insert for lip brush and eye shadow brush is extremely handy on the go. I kept the plastic over the lip brush since I didn’t want powder getting stuck on the fibers. The eyeshadow applicator is nothing special, just like regular ones you see in the drugstore only the word DIOR is stamped on it. The fibers of the lip brush weren’t perfectly straight and aligned, some fibers were sticking out at angles. I prefer using my own lip brush, or fingers (if you wash your hands right before!)
The shimmery white eyeshadow isn’t extremely sparkly, and it’s great to use over blending for that extra glitter, or in the inner corner of the eyes. However, you can’t really see the whiteness of the eyeshadow, so it was kind of difficult for me to blend glitter. The soft pink satin eyeshadow is similar to my skin colour, so it makes a good highlighter for under the browbone, and areas where light reflects. The blend-ability of it is easy.
For the mauve eyeshadow, I didn’t find it as pigmented as I like and I had to sweep it three times for a decent amount of colour. What I like about it is that it’s a great, natural everyday colour! Lastly, the smoky grey eyeshadow is the most pigmented one. It definitely lasts the longest, and after wearing it for around 8 hours, I noticed it faded into a bit of a lighter grey, but there was no creasing.
These eyeshadows were very soft and easy to blend; I wish they were a bit more pigmented so I don’t have to keep dabbing my eco-tools brush in it!
Moving on to the lip section of the palette! There are four lip products; the first one is a lip balm. Quite smoothing, but nothing outstanding. It is convenient though- since I usually wear a balm under lip gloss/lip stick; I can just throw this palette in my bag without worrying I will accidentally forget my lip balm.
The lip colours are not very pigmented, but just enough to give a pop of colour. The glosses weren’t sticky as I thought they would be. They’re not as moisturizing as other lip glosses, but they don’t dry out my lips either.
The Sweet Chérie Pinks Eye & Lip Palette really embodies the sweet and feminine look; and this palette is easy to use (especially for beginners like me.) The packaging is definitely the most striking part of the package, and I’m glad I don’t have much matte eyeshadows, so this palette is really convenient!
Weird thing about this palette is that on the back it says “Dior Rose Collection” but in Sephora it’s known as part of the Sweet Chérie collection, and the products inside are the same. This is my first combo-palette and I’ll be carrying this beauty around in my purse from now on! What do you think?
