Hey everyone! Sorry for another long blogging delay, I’ll try to be more frequent I promise! I will also try to respond to comments faster! My friends were graduating so I spent my time running around my university campus…and then it was my turn for my actual graduation! And between getting ready for graduation I got throat infection…twice!
The graduation ceremony was long and a bit boring, and all the picture taking after of it was exhausting and fun- and it is a memory that will stick in my mind forever and I was glad to be surrounded by my friends and family. Without them, I would have never been able to get my Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Electrical Engineering! It was a 5 year journey with many obstacles, but it was worth all the sweat and tears!
This post is on sharing my outfit for my graduation and my face of that day! It was a rainy and chilly day, so I had to be prepared! For the makeup- my two worries were sweating my makeup off or having my makeup washed off in the rain. From being at UBC from 9:30-2:00pm, I was so, so happy that my makeup barely budged, although I noticed my pores were getting a little bit oily towards the end of the ceremony.
I started to prep my face with my usual morning skincare routine: cleanser – > toner – > moisturizer. After prepping my skin, I used a primer-using SHISEIDO Pore Smoothing Corrector and then on top I used a foundation- DIOR DiorSkin Nude Teint Eclat in 021.
For the eyes- I used Urban Decay NAKED Palette and used Virgin on the browbone, Naked all over the eyelid, and Buck at the crease/outer corner of the eyes. The eyeliner I used was Kat Von D’s tattoo liner in Trooper, and lastly, I used a waterproof mascara – CoverGirl LashBlast volume. I used BareMinerals Stroke of Light Eye Brightener to cover my undereye circles.
Lastly for the cheeks, I dabbed a bit of Tarte’s Amazonian clay 12 hour blush in Dollface and Victoria Secret Baked Mineral Bronzing Powder in Glowing (this bronzer was bought last year and I recently fell in love with again and have been using it daily!) For my lips, I dabbed some lip balm on and and DIOR Lip Maximizer lip gloss.
For my outfit, I was looking for something formal, and I found this cute dress at the sale rack at Street/Below the Belt at Richmond Centre! The lace and bow detailing at the front of the dress sold me.
Sorry for the not-as-great-quality pictures, it was a busy day that day and I didn’t manage to do a lot of captures.
My heels were from Aldo. I liked the short heel, which made it a tad bit more comfortable to walk in. The two toned black and white colours of the shoes matched the grad gown and the dress I wore! These heels look sophisticated and I can wear them for interviews and potentially, a future job. 🙂
Thanks for reading along my journey and now that one milestone of my life has been done, I hope many more will come and I will keep blogging! I will be setting up my own site (www.wandsandpliers.com) SOON, so I will update you when that is done! I know I’ve been blogging weekly rather than couple times a week, but to keep up to date and check in, feel free to follow me on Twitter or Instagram where I’m more active! 🙂
Also, I will be going to London next Wednesday, so I’m looking forward to sharing my overseas adventures!!
