Today my friend and I visited a frozen yogurt place called Scoop. It was my first time going to the little cafe that is located on West 4th in Vancouver.
The outside of the place looks whimsical and unique- with big bold pink letters and an old fashioned looking wooden entrance.

Inside is very simple- nice hanging lights, tables, and chairs. There is a “downstairs” with board games and a fooseball table as well. This seems like a nice little place to enjoy dessert and relax with friends.

To be honest, I’m not a fan of frozen yogurt, or yogurt in general due to my dislike of milk and lactose intolerance. However, the concept of the place is very original and I can see why Scoop draws customers.
She ordered a small regular frozen yogurt for $3.49 + tax.
Then comes the fun part. Scoop has approximately 10-12 different toppings you can choose from – ranging from coconut jelly to kiwi to graham crumbles to sprinkles. The price of the topping is approximately $1 for every 50g you pick.

The ordered frozen yogurt included sprinkles, graham cookie crumbles, strawberries, and a new favourite of mine now – mochi. Mochi is a type of Japanese rice cake. I tried a mochi with a bit of yogurt and it was really good! Now I have to see if I can buy just mochi from supermarkets and eat it as a snack. Unfortunately, I would never finish yogurt on its own ever, so I would just be one of those people snacking off others.

For myself, I just opted for a mango juice with coconut jelly. It was a bit sweet after I added the coconut jelly, but still tasty and fresh nonetheless. It costed $3.49 + $0.50 for coconut jelly. It was quite a huge drink and I didn’t finish it 🙁

Scoop seems to be a place that is willing to try new things, and I wouldn’t mind going back for other snacks, namely their advertised Caramel Apple Fondue that sounds really tasty.
