I was low on my masks, and when I was at an Asian superstore in Yaohan, I picked up a box of My Beauty Diary (我的美丽日记) Masks for $14.99. I wrote a previous review on these masks here where I gave a general overview and a chart on which masks have which benefits. Isn’t this carry box cute?!
These masks are great because they’re inexpensive, and they work for me (although only short term wise, not sure about any long term benefits :P.) This box came with 3 different types, and 5 sheets of mask per type. In this box, the three different types of masks includes are:
- Arbutin Whitening Mask
- Black Pearl Mask
- Lemon Vit-C Mask
- Bonus My Beauty Diary Peach Lip Essence
I tried all three of them already, and I love them all, especially the Arbutin! I have already used the Black Pearl Mask before, and it does a decent job as similar to the rest of the masks in the MBD line. Very cooling which I LOVE, since Vancouver is so hot right now! (Summer is finally here at least!)
The Lemon Vit-C Mask has a fresh citrus scent, and I felt my skin was brighter and more supple. Because the mask has lemon extract, and lemon is known for brightening and exfoliating, the mask should even skin tone and make skin smoother.I’m not sure if my skin tone is evened over time, but I noticed that the pinkness around my nose is less severe. Compared to all the scents in this box, this is my favourite scent because I love citrus! This mask packs a lot of juice. I left it on for a 25 minutes and it was still very wet, so I squeezed the serum from the mask and pat in my face more.
For more brightening, the Arbutin mask really does the trick! My skin felt so much softer and moisturized! I felt that this mask actually held the brightening on my face longer. The Arbutin mask is thinner than the usual cotton masks. The smell is a bit lighter, and I could pick up a slight floral scent. Also, this mask has a lot of serum in it! After leaving it on for 25 minutes, it was still very wet, similar to the Vitamin C Mask.
I haven’t tried the lip essence yet, since I want to finish one lip balm before opening this one. I’m excited to try this since I love lip treatment/balms!
My Beauty Diary keeps coming up with new scents for masks, so I hope I’ll stumble onto another good one after I finish this box! I’ve also seen different lip essence flavours and hand creams too!
