To celebrate Fashion’s Night Out 2012, Chanel created three colours for two products- lipstick and nails; which are dubbed as “Les Twin-sets de Chanel.” These are limited edition products. The names were: Rouge Allure Velvet La Provocante / Provocation, Rouge Allure Velvet L’Infidele / Infidéle, and Rouge Allure Velvet La Délicate / Délicatesse. “Rouge Allure” is for the lipstick, and the other is the nail polish. There’s a trend of matching lip colours and nail colours going on.

I happened to have a gift card for Holt Renfrew,a high end shopping store, and there wasn’t enough to buy clothing or accessories, so I rather get a beauty item so I don’t have to cover the cost much. I was debating between a YSL Lipstick or Chanel lipstick, and I got sucked in at the limited edition colours the woman was showing me at the Chanel counter. After trying the, I was hook, line, and sinker.

First off, the packaging is extremely luxurious and I feel satisfied just holding it in my hand. The black and gold is a classic colour combination. Black, sleek, and timeless.
To get the lipstick bullet out, you have to press on the gold top and it will push out easily. No need to unscrew or pop a cap!
Chanel describes this colour as:
Energetic pink adorns the lips in modern, intensely feminine colour and a luminous velvet matte finish. Part of the limited-edition LES TWIN-SETS DE CHANEL Collection, created exclusively for Fashion’s Night Out.
It’s a matte rosy-fuschia colour, with a creme finish. The colour is pretty “safe” and it brightens up the complexion when I don’t have anything else on my face.
The pigmentation of L’infidele lipstick is wonderful. It’s also buildable- from a rosy pink to a brighter fuschia colour. My lips feel instantly moisturized with it. The duration of the lipstick is not bad either, after 5 hours I still notice the colour on my lips, though the “creme” feel of it is gone. What I liked was swiping L;infidele on my lips over dry flaky lips, and it didn’t enhance the dryness!
The colour looks different in different lighting. In the picture below, it looks quite matte and the colour settled into a nice shade of pink.
I am loving Chanel’s Rouge Allure Velvet L’infidele lipstick- from the packaging, to the formula, to the colour. No wonder everyone raves about the quality of Chanel makeup, it’s impeccable! I’m going to have to ignore them for a while until I graduate and find a job to splurge on another! And thanks to Holt Renfrew giftcard, I got this little gem around $8! 🙂 🙂
Which pair of glasses fit better with the lip stick colour? Are you a fan of Chanel makeup?
