Have you ever had lunch from those grocery stores, such as Safeway and Save-Ons? I always do, and I recently discovered Urban Fare’s dining. Urban Fare is a a slightly more expensive grocery store since they serve “all the good stuff that’s made by right in our own backyard. From Vancouver Island cheese and Western Canadian grown produce, to breads, cakes and cookies baked fresh right in our store – you’ll always find just what you’re looking for.”

Urban Fare is located in Yaletown, and its approximately five minutes from the Yaletown Canada Line Station.

A separate area is sectioned off at Urban Fare, separating from their “cafe”/dining part and the grocer part. You  can order an entree, and they will bring it to your table if you dine in. I opted for the Chicken Alfredo Linguini for $9.99.

I never finish a plate of chicken alfredo ever (like the ones from White Spot,) but I finished this! There was a lot of chicken mixed in this, and I usually see restaurants just put tiny slices on the top. The alfredo sauce and melting cheese were perfect together- there wasn’t too much sauce or too much oil, and I liked how they onions on top as well! The chicken was not dry, and there were some giant chunks. This may be my favourite chicken alfredo linguini to date!

Urban Fare prices are slightly higher, but the pasta left a good impression on me. Additionally, most places retail a plate of chicken alfredo linguini for $10+ (and extra if you want chicken), so I was extremely satisfied with the portion and the amount of meat they put in it!  I’m up for going back again to try their other meals!
