I received my April 2012 Luxebox today, and I have cancelled my subscription. I just don’t want to waste $12+ tax/month on items that I am not thrilled for, and my box of samples are growing exponentially. This is the box I received today:

1) April is Daffodil Month- and Luxebox collaborated with the Canadian Cancer Society to make a contribution. I bought a pin last year but I don’t know where it is anymore, so I pinned this to my jacket immediately.
2) ESSIE Nail Polish: She’s Picture Perfect(full sized – $8)
I reserved this through LuxeBox’s “First in Line Program” where I got to pick a product I want to be in my Luxebox. The color is beautiful, greyish lavender with a sheen to it. It is called “She’s Picture Perfect” which is part of the Resort 2012 Summer Collection. I can’t wait to try it after my current polish chips off.

And that was the last of exciting news in my Luxebox.
3) I got a 50mL sample of Pantene Pro-V Aqua Light Shampoo + Conditioner. (Full sized shampoo (375mL) and conditioner (374mL) are $6 each.)
Yes, they are extremely travel friendly. I haven’t tried this new shampoo before.
But I stopped using Pantene ages ago, because it makes my hair too waxy. Perhaps this new shampoo/conditioner is much more improved? However, I am tired of constantly receiving hair products!
The size I got is worth $.80/shampoo and $.80 per conditioner.
4) BOBOS Remi Leave in Conditioner. (Full sized 10 oz = $10)
This leave in conditioner is in a spray bottle- formulated with Macadamia oil, panthenol, and jojoba oil. It sound all great and wonderful- but I don’t need it. How many hair treatments does Luxebox need to send me?! I have too many products now I don’t know what to use!
I did spray a little bit in my hair, it has a fresh, grapey scent.
I got 2oz = $2 worth of sample.
5)Yves Rocher Gentle Eye Makeup Remover for Sensitive Eyes (full sized 125mL for $6)
I never tried anything from Yves Rocher and it seems like a fairly nice product, from reading reviews. But once again, not really up to my standards or what I would expect from LuxeBox. It’s something I could use, but not what I would live without. I received 50mL (worth $2.40)
Overall, this $14 worth of samples didn’t live up to my expectations, and I feel like I should save my money to get one nice product I prefer instead. I did read other bloggers who got similar or same items, and were thrilled. Each to his(her)own. Also, my mom will go crazy on me if she finds out I subscribe to a box of samples monthly. This was a nice 3 month surprise- but I’m cancelling beauty subscriptions for now. Hopefully topbox removes me off the waitlist soon so I can try them for once!
