I decided to dub all my food reviews now as “Foodie Visit” so it sounds less boring! My latest food adventure ended up in Downtown Vancouver’s Stackhouse Burger. My friend Sarah recommended me this place as her coworker took her there last time.
The interior of Stackhouse Burger is seemingly tranquil, with a mixture of modern and hipster vibes. There’s coat hangers in the form of horse heads and bars and high tables. And wooden decor.

I was starving! I decided to go with the Chicken Burger and Sarah went with the Ahi Tuna Burger. You can choose a side mescun salad or fries, and we both opted for fries.
CHICKEN BURGER 15
5 oz free-run chicken breast with Camembert cheese, truffle aioli and butter lettuce, served on a brioche bun.
AHI TUNA BURGER 16
5 oz Ahi tuna steak with miso aioli, watercress and creamy avocado. Topped with fried onions, served on a brioche bun.
While waiting, we were given water in this cool glass flask!
Our food took around twenty minutes to come, and when I was looking around, I saw the cook prepping a huge line up of burgers for a large table.

This is Sarah’s second time having the Ahi Tuna Burger- it’s that good. I would’ve chose it, but I don’t really like raw fish. However, this time she said the fish wasn’t as raw looking as last time.

My hungry stomache was looking forward to this chicken burger and the fries! I had a terrible sore throat that day, and I knew I shouldn’t get fries, but I don’t regret this.
When the burger came, I wondered how was I suppose to bite down on such a filling platter. After a bit of burger handling, I bit down and instantly noticed how fresh and juicy it was. The sauce was dripping down onto my plate as I ate. The butter lettuce was great and smooth! The sauce was very tasty, and the Camembert cheese melted a bit from the heat of the chicken- which completed the taste of the burger.
The fries were perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Eat them while they’re hot, because that’s when they taste the best! There was quite a big portion of fries and I didn’t manage to finish it.
Needless to say, I got a terrible sore throat the day after; no thanks to these scrumptious fried potatoes. Stackhouse Burger is on the pricer side for a burger; but the restaurant’s ambiance and the presentation makes it a great spot for sitting and having conversations, rather than a stuffy McDonalds or Burger King.
