As I am getting older, I’m starting little luxuries in travelling. Given that the COVID-19 is not making international travel enticing, I splurged ion my hotel stay at a local trip to Whistler. My goal was to mainly relax while catching up on work. 2019 was my last Whistler visit where I stayed at The Westin Resort & Spa, which was very cozy and I liked having a kitchenette. I was leaning towards the Delta Hotels by Marriott Whistler Village Suites as I am a Mariott Bonvoy member. But after reading how the Fairmont Gold Lounge was opened again at Fairmont Chateau Whistler, that was the cherry on top and met all my needs for a relaxing 3 night stay. [Read more…]
Peckish in South Kensington, London: Brompton Food Market, Cafe de Nata
Whewwww there’s a lot of my travel stuff that I haven’t gone through from my Europe trip back in July. One of my favourite areas to visit and be touristy is South Kensington area. When it comes to travelling, I’m a firm believer in eating little things throughout the day so I can jam pack as much tastes as I can savour. South Kensington is in the western part of London, with popular museums such as Science Museum, Victoria and Albert Musuem as well as the Natural History Musuem. Between all the museum hopping, sustenance is required in between.
Favourite Eats in Waikiki
I miss my Hawaii vacation so much already!! One of my favourite parts about travelling is definitely the food. There is a huge Japanese population in the Honolulu area on the island of O’ahu. I was super excited to try some Japanese-American food, as I also miss Japan from my previous trip in May so much! Overall, my food experience was great, so it’s so hard to narrow down my favourite…so here’s five of my “I definitely will go back to” restaurants. I stayed in the Waikiki area, hence these are all the places you can find in that area (plus they’re all in close proximity to each other!) [Read more…]
CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La Hotel Vancouver
When I get good ginger tea, I know it’s a great start to something.
One of my favourite employee perks are RMT benefits because I can get a massage AND try out a spa (albeit it is more pricey but if you have a decent Health Spending Account then you can use that to cover the extra costs. Most RMT coverage is around $100-$110 per session depending on your provider.) I decided to treat myself and booked a 60 minute RMT treatment at CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La Hotel Vancouver. Japan 2018| One Night in Magome
I’m back and just recovering from throat infection/ cough/ stuffy nose! Not sure if I got sick from not getting enough sleep when I came back, or I went outdoor swimming in Vancouver, or the stress of being a bridesmaid – but all is well! In the midst of a busy Asia trip in the city, my boyfriend and I wanted to experience the quieter countryside of Japan. We made an overnight stop at Magome, in Nakatsugawa. Getting to Magome was more confusing than we planned for but the beauty of the town is worth it if you have time for a getaway within the business of Japan. [Read more…]
