So I’ve been looking into building a capsule wardrobe, and as un-minimalist as I am, the concept seems like a fun challenge and will probably help me figure out which pieces in my closet shouldn’t stay anymore and I can spend less on clothes. I want to look fancy without the flamboyant colours and want pieces that work for something fancy or something casual.
And I’m ashamed to admit I have clothes in my closet that I bought but never wore out. I pick up things where I can go “OOOH I’ll look so good in this in the office,” but in my work place, we don’t dress formal. (Or I’ll be met with questions such as “where are you going tonight?!”) Yet, I feel like I work better when I dress better – and I want to reduce time and effort in pairing up clothes when I have my capsule wardrobe handy. Basically, it’s having 30-40 essential pieces of clothing (including shoes and bags) to rotate and mix/match with to create different outfits. I’m going to be realistic and generous to my self; I probably need around 40 pieces.
