No I’m not listening to Christmas carols; the Fantastic Beasts soundtrack is playing in the background though which is my kind of holiday jam. Or Hedwig’s theme. The holiday mail arrived quite early in the year (thank you imaginary Hedwig!), as I got to play around with these products since October…and now we’re only a few mere weeks away from 2017. I have an exciting post on the Mary Kay winter makeup collection, but there are also some really nice gift sets for the mother/teacher/friend!
Ah, where was this ten years ago when my face was pimple-less and I just want fresh looking skin (that didn’t sound too creepy, right?) Introducing one of the most lightweight foundations I’ve tried; Make Up For Ever’s latest foundation, the Water Blend Face & Body Foundation.
A few years ago, if you asked my friends to describe me, they’ll probably say “grandma.” In my early 20’s (yes I feel that old now,) I was the odd one out ordering hot water in restaurants and drinking tea at night, while everyone had great alcohol tolerance and didn’t get stomache pains like I did. I would have Tiger Balms and some kind of Chinese medicine oil in my purse (I still do,) for any ache or illness I’d get on the spot. Now, aromatherapy and essential oils are more widely used and I have no shame in offering my coworker some of my white chrysanthemum oil like offering my snacks. Essential oils have many benefits and I have three types of oils to share from Thursday Plantation: Tea Tree Oil, Lavender Oil, and Eucalyptus Oil! [Read more…]
Sorry guys, I’ve been busy prepping/planning for Comic Con (which is happening in LESS than two weeks!) so I’ve kind of put my blog second on my priority list! I have a LOT of reading/catching up to do with my favourite blogs!
Amidst of all the hustling and bustling I’ve been doing, a nice shower is something I look forward to end of the day. And one of my favourite parts of showering is scrubbing away my rough and dead skin cells and be left with smooth, buttery skin that shines under the sun. My latest exfoliating discovery involves BVspa by Bon Vital. Bon Vital was found in 1988 (that’s 28 years!) and only until recently have I been aware of this brand! The BVspa line focuses on delivering luxurious spa quality products that a consumer can use at home. Since I can’t really see myself shelling out big bucks for a spa treatment, I love DIY-ing my own at home spa experience in my little yellow lit bathroom. The two products I got to try from BVspa is the Sugar Scrub and the Salt Scrub.
I’m practically a hermit which means that I don’t get a lot of Vitamin D (What is sun? Hiking? Is that a sport?) Not only that, I am pretty pale and I don’t tan very often even when sitting under the sun for hours. Self tanners are a fun thing to use to solve this beauty problem; I’ve been a huge fan of Jergens for many years (even before I started blogging!) and they changed their formula this year by infusing black tea with their Natural Glow moisturizer. Black tea is known to be a natural bronzer; this kind of makes sense right?! If you drink too much black tea your teeth will stain, so it can stain your teeth too if it’s a SUPER strong concoction.
