Hello everyone, another year of sharing what is on this year’s gift guide for all things beauty. Recently, my focus has been more on skincare, body care, hair care – things that make me feel pampered and like having a spa day at home. What else is better than taking care of yourself, and gifting that idea to someone you love?
Luxury Candles
Everyone loves a luxury candle nowadays, they brighten up a room (literally) and bring an aromatic scent to the room. This orange + santal soy candle ($40 CAD) from true and you smells just like a holiday with a mix of citrus and spices. This has a burn time of 45+ hours and packs a good size weight. Plus, it is a Canadian brand, where the candles are and produced and packed in Toronto.
Bath and Body Care
My go to category when gifting for mothers (mine and even my friends who are moms!) A nourishing, quality hand cream, soap, etc is something I really appreciate as I get older. Another Canadian brand, Clayton Shagal has a great selection of holiday sets, such as the Jojoba & Loofa Exfoliating Body Gel Case ($42 CAD). The loofah has a really soft, velvety texture to it – not like the ones you find in your drugstore! Pair this with a Vitamin E and Cocoa Butter Body Cream ($36 CAD) for the full hydrating experience. And with all the hand washing we do now, a Hand Cream ($19.75 CAD) is always useful. Bonus points is that the hand cream is scent free. Plus, all of Clayton Shagal products are made in Canada.
Fragrance
For the fragrance lover, AERIN’s Cedar Violet Eau de Parfum ($155 CAD) is luxury in a bottle. This is so good for the next holiday gathering; it has such a nice warm and woodsy scent. It’s like walking through a fresh forest, while holding a bouquet of violets. Special thank you to the Estee Lauder team who even put my initials on the ribbon. I especially love the green lid; the bottle looks so sophisticated sitting on my shelf.
Hair Care
amika is one of my favourite hair brands; their blowout spray and hair serum is one of my most reached hair products at home. I was overjoyed when I received the Blowout Buffet Blow Dryer Brush Set ($130 CAD – on sale for $104 at Sephora right now!)This kit contains the Hair Blow Dryer Brush, Wizard Detangling Primer (118mL) and Perk Up Dry Shampoo (232mL.) I purchased a mini bottle before of the dry shampoo in Paris, and it is one of my favourite dry shampoos as it doesn’t leave a weird scent and makes my hair feel less oily and easier to style. I’ve only done local trips in the past two years where I brought my Dyson air wrap, which is pretty bulky, so I’m pretty excited to travel with the Blow Dryer Brush instead! This is a great gift for anyone who loves doing their hair, and I will definitely do a review of the brush once I play around with it some more. Bonus props if this gift receiver is also a pizza lover, look how cute the packaging is!
Thank you to all the brands who sent over samples which let me put together this list! If you haven’t noticed, I haven’t been blogging as much lately; as I’ve been working on improving my health and maintaining a work life balance. I really appreciate these products and integrating them into my lifestyle. Having a candle burning in the bathroom, while doing my hair, prepping to go out – I appreciate these little rituals that make me feel better! What is on your beauty wish list for this holiday?
