When I was in Japan, I was out to try and purchase as much Japanese beauty products as I could carry home. On my way back in the airport, I was spending the last of my yen on bottles of shampoo that was definitely too heavy for little me to lug around. And everyday, I miss my Japan vacation. So, when I received these Japanese made shampoo and conditioner from NatureLab Tokyo, you bet I put them to the test immediately! And how cute are the lab-like bottles that the Perfect Shine Shampoo and Conditioner came in!
NatureLab Tokyo uses active botanical (apple, argan, bamboo, and grape) stem cells to maintain scalp health and promote hair growth, and is also a cruelty free company. The Perfect Shine Shampoo and Conditioner duo ($28 USD) is targeted for those who think their hair is getting a bit dull. As I work from home, my giving – a – crap about my appearance have been dramatically decreasing and I do say my hair (and my bushy brows) are making me a bit drab these days.
The Perfect Shine Shampoo ($14USD) contains grape stem cells to “regenerate scalp papilla cells and revitalize shine.” It also has hyaluronic acid to keep in moisture and pearl extract which stimulates enzymes for some hair shine. The scent contains notes of violet and almond.
I find the scent reminds me of a professional hair salon; not too overwhelming and no artificial-ness to it. A small amount gives me enough lather that I can use in my hair. It’s also very easy to rinse off (I noticed these days a lot of shampoo requires a lot of scrubbing to feel clean,) and I can forgo the conditioner and my hair will still feel soft. This is great to use if I know I have an event coming up as it leaves my hair feeling vibrant (or my confidence!)
The Perfect Shine Conditioner ($14USD) has the same stem cell and hydrating contents as the shampoo. Together, they do look very nice in the shower hanging out. Heads up, dimethicone is third on the ingredient list, followed by botanical extracts.
I enjoyed using both of these together as it makes my hair happy and smells very fresh. I am taking engagement photos soon and I asked my make up artist on hair tips and she said to just use shampoo the day before and this will be my shampoo of choice. My hair doesn’t feel weighed down and not gross if I don’t wash it for 1-2 days afterwards. My only gripe is that I wish you get a bit more for the price; as converting it to Canadian dollars, the cost is a bit much on this side of the border.
