I am a skincare junkie these days and I don’t think the skin on my face can keep up fast enough with me. I’ve been using Pixi skincare products for a past few months (and now am on my next brand,) and feels like Pixi deserves a dedicated post for how great these products have worked for me in some ways.
Rose Caviar Essence ($34 CAD)
I adore my high end luxury skincare serums, but the Rose Caviar Essence is a real contender! First off, the tube is super pretty with its transparent packaging, so you can see the serum with its encapsulated flower oils suspended inside. Secondly, it smells amazing – not like an artificial pungent rose scent.
The rose flower oil helps with moisturizing, the anise extract helps with detoxifying, and the mulberry extract helps with brightening. The texture is light and slightly goopy, and gets absorbed in the skin right away. My skin does feel really nice after – soft, bouncy, and it smells nice.
I am a huge fan and it has a coveted spot in my skincare cabinet. Do note though, for those who have a bit more sensitive skin or have potential skin allergies, there are other floral oils in the ingredient list as well as soybean oil.
Rose Ceramide Cream
Either I don’t look at ingredients enough on my other moisturizers or this is actually the first product I’ve tried that contains ceramide. Ceramides are lipids that helps the skin retain its moisture at the barrier level of the skin. To me, it sounds like – bye bye ceramides = bye bye The Wall keeping White Walkers out.
The Rose Ceramide Cream also contains rose flower oil and probiotics. I hate yogurt so I sometimes take probiotics for my stomache, so I did a quick check on what probiotics does for the skin. According to Paula’s Choice, the skin has good bacteria and bad bacteria, and just like the digestive tract, sometimes it can be out of balance. (My digestion is like 90% out of balance all the time.) By using probiotics to maintain the microflora on the skin, the skin has better hydration and reduces the factors that trigger red skin. The fourth ingredient on the box is dimethicone. Luckily my skin doesn’t react to silicones, but something to beware about if you aren’t a fan of them.
As Pixi dubs this an intenstive moisturizer, I do not disagree. It definitely has a thick texture and my skin feels like it got a huge dose of moisture. Because of this, I prefer this as a night cream or for extremely dry patches during the day. It’s rich texture is perfect for the winter, however, I am shelving this as the weather is getting warmer. The scent is not purely full of rose as there is some hints of citrus notes, which I don’t mind at all.
I can’t find this cream on the beauty boutique by Shoppers Drug Mart website, but I expect it to be in the $24-$35 dollar range given the price point of the essence and the cleanser.

Rose Cream Cleanser ($24 CAD)
If you don’t have super dry skin, the Rose Cream Cleanser can ALMOST be a moisturizer-cleanser. It contains mineral rich mud, rose, avocado, chamomile, and aloe vera. After one use, I notice my skin felt soft after cleansing and I’m like ahhh this is so good! For now, this is sitting amongst my shower collection products so I will reach for it more. I don’t feel the need to supplement with something intense after using this cleanser as my skin feels really smooth right after.
However, because I barely wear makeup nowadays to work, this cleanser works for me most of the time. If I’m going to an event and I know I got that mascara, 10 layers of under eye concealer, primer, and foundation on; this cleanser doesn’t get rid of it entirely.
Most of my skincare has some simple-yet-serious packaging and I do like Pixi’s colour scheme and font on the products. The Rose Caviar Essence is for sure my favourite of the three and I’m more than halfway done the tube. As I will be heading to London next month, I most likely will see if I can get my hands on any Pixi products that I can’t find in Canada. Is there any other makeup/skincare brands I should find in Europe?!
