If you’ve been on the blog before, I’m pretty much wearing glasses in every single post that has my face in it because I’ve been wearing them since Grade 2 and contact lenses just makes me look like a human panda.
So one of the challenges I find is finding a pair of affordable sunglasses, which I usually only get once every four years or so with my company benefits. There is no point shelling out for a pair of $300 non prescription sunglasses because deep down I know I wouldn’t wear them enough. Clearly sent me two pairs of sunglasses that are fun and affordable!
The old school vibe with my Joseph Marc Geller sunglasses in Havana is a bit funky and out of my comfort zone, which is kind of fun! If I had them as regular prescriptions glasses I’d be like a kung-fu master; but as sunglasses, now I’m a cool kung-fu master. I also got to choose what kind of sunglasses lenses I want with them; I chose the Green Mirror Polarized lenses. Fashion wise, I’d wear this pair of glasses when going for a boho chic kind of outfit.
Here I am wearing the Derek Cardigan Ash-50 in Teal. The Ash-50 frames is a bit more ‘cutesy’ retro look and because I collect almost everything teal (though the frames also come in Navy or Plum,) these glasses were a no brainer for me. I got them with Grey Polarized lenses. I’ve been thinking of what outfit to complement these sunglasses, and of course the answer to that is MORE BLUE-GREEN shades (or anything in that colour range of mint/aqua,) such as my mint green lace top which is one of my favourite summer shirts.

Both of theses frames can also be regular prescription glasses (I wish I could pull them off daily!) It was hard to decide which frames I wanted as Clearly has a range of designer to exclusive designed brands, which two of them are featured here. A neat initiative is that for every pair of glasses purchased from Clearly, they will donate a pair to someone who needs glasses. Clearly has partnered with Essilor Vision Foundation and over 400,000 pairs of glasses were donated in 2017.
So tell me, what’s your favourite pair of sunglasses?!
