I don’t talk about shaving much. Maybe it’s because getting rid of hair is a way of life for me. It’s something I do way more than men (no jokes.) I don’t know many brands that focuses on shaving, other than what you find at the drugstore and my routine is usually a mix of shaving and waxing depending on how lazy I am. I was recently introduced to Harry’s, a company that focuses on quality shaving minus the high cost. Although it’s definitely a great gift idea for men – ladies give it a try when he’s not looking because it works great (compared to the pack of 3 disposable razors for $12.99!)
The set I received was the Winston Set ($25 USD) – which contains 1 Winston Razor Handle, 1 Foaming Shave Gel (4.0oz) 3 German Engineered Blade Cartridges, and 1 Travel Blade Cover.
My boyfriend and I had a shaving time where he tried it on his beard and I used it on my arm (I have hairy arms.) Harry’s Foaming Shave Gel has a nice, thick and smooth lather and it smelled really good (though not as good as my boyfriend’s sandalwood shaving cream.)
Though I know less to nothing about shaving (my end goal is seeing no hair and skin doesn’t feel itchy,) this was the smoothest and silkiest my arm felt using a razor. Though my boyfriend has his own high quality shaving set, he noted that Harry’s gave him a smooth shave but he wouldn’t replace his existing products.
The one problem was when putting the travel blade cover over the razor head, the handle gets disconnected easily so I hope they improve on that part in the future.
Overall – I think Harry’s is a great starter kit for those who shave but are not shaving enthusiasts. The packaging makes it easily presentable as well. And from a female’s perspective, it worked pretty darn well on me too and I noticed the hair grew back slower compared to drugstore razors AND no razor bumps/sensitivity/ingrown hairs!
By the way- I will be on vacation until December 6th, stay updated on my adventures at Wizarding World of Harry Potter on Instagram!
