If I’m a tad bit too tired to blog, I’m a tad bit too tired for mascara.
A few weeks ago, I tried out a lash lift from Brow Beauty by Mel and gahhhhh….this is life changing! If you are too finnicky with lash extensions, lash lift is definitely the way to go. (And you can use mascara ON your lashes that got a lift, but I just let my lashes run naked.)
Brow Beauty by Mel focuses on permanent and semi-permanent makeup such as the hot beauty trend, microblading. As I don’t need to get my brows done, I got a lovely treatment to my lashes called a Lash Lift. A lash lift is like a perm to curl your lashes and keep them uplifted for 6-8 weeks. Unlike lash extensions, you can use any makeup/makeup remover on your lashes and you can use mascara for extra curl and definition.
The lash lifting treatment lasts just under an hour. (You can see how my lashes are so droopy in the photo below.) Melissa, of Brow Beauty by Mel, started by cleaning my lashes and then a silicon pad is placed on my eyelids. Not going to lie, I was taking mini naps during the process as it was smooth and my eyes didn’t feel sensitive at all. Melissa applied a lifting solution over my lashes, and after that was removed, she used a nourishing oil.
After the silicon pads were removed, Melissa handed me a mirror and I’m sure my face was like :O. Getting my lashes to stay up for a whole day is impossible until I got this lash lift done. My lashes looked thicker and definitely curled – and my eyes look slightly bigger too (the best part he he.)
The lash lift treatment was very straightforward and I couldn’t stop smiling after I had the treatment done. I honestly might do this rather than lash extensions in the future, as you get way more flexibility with lash lifts and I don’t have to worry about false lashes poking on my glasses lens
Brow Beauty by Mel is located at Unit#606-777 West Broadway Vancouver. You can book your appointment (lash lift or microblading or permanent makeup) online here.
