Lately, I’ve been finding I have less and less time for makeup especially on weekdays. I try to cram changing into clothes, breakfast, and snoozing around in a span of 30 minutes before it’s time to get out of the door and get to work. There’s more time to play with makeup on weekends, but if I’m going to be at home and no one will see the effort I put in, DID I REALLY PUT ON MAKEUP?!
Nah – I prefer looking prim and proper on weekdays so I can feel confident on the skytrain, on the way to work, swiveling in my chair at work. Ok – we may not need makeup to feel confident but I do feel a tad bit better. But if there’s no time to do a full face in a minute – there’s other options nowadays. Because I am feeling a bit uninspired lately, I’m going to do a series of posts on ways to wake up while looking mostly partially ready. One of the more popular beauty services I’ve been hearing is microblading eyebrows.
Recently, I met with Brenda of B for Brows at her studio to learn more about microblading eyebrows and share it with my readers! Her passion in helping her customer’s get the perfect brows and seeing their faces light up is what drives B for Brows to success. If you aren’t familiar with this cosmetic technique, microblading eyebrows is a form of semi permanent tattoo where the pigment is deposited on the skin via hand held needle blade. The end result is strokes of pigment that looks like natural hair – and you only need a touch up once a year!
When it comes to microblading brows, you can’t ask for anyone’s brows you see on Vogue, and hope the same would be planted on your face. Brenda will look at your facial structure and choose which brow shape would suit you best. Fortunately, I have full brows – but one thing I learned was that using sunscreen after the eyebrows have healed post-microblading, is to use sunscreen! I rarely think about putting lotion on brows, but it makes sense! If I had less hair than I do (brow-wise,) microblading eyebrows is definitely something I’d consider because….
- Brows are a standout feature on the face and for four eyes like me, brows and glasses go hand in hand!
- Wearing minimal makeup to work – having on point eyebrows would be one less thing to be finnicky about. This works for the gym too – I’m guilty of using concealer here and there even if I’m going to the gym because I feel more confident while working out. Brows can add to that confidence too!
- Reduce time in doing brow makeup = more time for everything else
