The end of a stressful week is finally here! I finished watching Iron Fist and have moved on to 13 Reasons Why. Yup, I have been doing a bit of Netflix binging as I find it a stress relief, whereas, blogging could actually be a bit stressful at times! Mary Kay’s Light, Reinvented spring collection is bursting with pinks and pastels and a little bit of brightness is really what I need in life right now. This collection was released back in February, but I’ve only gotten around to trying them out until recently.

I love using lip oils so I was really excited about the the Mary Kay Glossy Lip Oils ($19 CAD.) They’re infused with grapeseed, avocado, and jojoba oils and these definitely feel slick and moisturizing on the lips. The lip oils have a sponge tip and you squeeze the tube to get the product. The three colours available are Brilliant Violet, Magenta Ray, and Sheer Pink.

I was a bit surprised how pigmented they were when I swatched and put them on my lips. But…as you can see I have the most forced smiled ever in my shots of wearing Sheer Pink and Brilliant Violet, like I’m thinking, I can never wear this colour in public. Magenta Ray was the only shade I felt comfortable with. The Glossy Lip Oils are alright, but I much rather spend my $19 somewhere else. It looks like a unicorn pooped over my lips in the shot where I’m wearing Sheer Pink (and no, I haven’t tried the Starbucks Unicorn Frap yet!)

There are two quads of the Mary Kay Eye Palette ($26 CAD each); Sunlight and Glistening Horizon. The orange and pink swatches of Sunlight are really pretty and complement each other; the light pink is alright but the lavender purple doesn’t really stand out. However, these aren’t colours I’d wear on a normal basis – I’d pass on this personally. Glistening Horizon’s blues and purples are bolder and were quite fun to play around (I am wearing it in the shots of me above.) I have 0 clue on how to pull of a blue eyeshadow and my hooded eyelids masked most of my blending mistakes. This isn’t an ‘everyday’ eyeshadow palette for me either; so I can’t foresee myself purchasing a quad at that price point.

These limited edition Mary Kay Nail Lacquer ($10 CAD) are hands down (sort of a pun, no?!) my favourite part of their spring collection. The formula is SO good because the polish can literally last at least a week, and still look pretty decent. In fact, I’ve worn them for more than a week and people can’t believe I’ve had the polish on for that long. Interestingly enough, the pastel blue shade (New Blue) got the most compliments from males at work! I was a bit taken aback (in a good way,) when they complimented on the blue more than other nail polish shades I’ve worn!

I apologize for loading this blog post with photos! There is a nice selection of colourful products but my winners are 100% the nail lacquers. I am not a die hard nail polish painter, but I can rotate between these four shades over and over again.
