Happy New Year! Happy 2017 to you all! One of my plans on Dec 31, 2016 was to do a post on goals and what not for January 1, 2017 but that plan flew out of the door; breaking resolutions (#SortOfAResolution) already! But holy, I had the worst sleep pattern for the past few nights took a toll on my brain and there wasn’t enough coffee to set me straight. Hope you all had a great holiday!
I haven’t even really thought about what I want to do this year (can it be like, Dec, 33rd 2016 or something?!) BUT, there was some exciting things that happened last year that I haven’t shared on here. For example, The Urban Tea Merchant closed its doors and launched TWG Tea, the first North American Tea Salon & Boutique in Vancouver.

I remember the first time I visited The Urban Tea Merchant in 2013, to get some macarons and share it in a blog post (I was such a noob back then….) Fast forward, I have been super lucky to be part of the community and watched how TWG Tea promote a strong tea culture in Vancouver. TWG Tea first opened in Singapore eight years ago and there are now more than 800 blends of teas in the TWG Tea collection, as well as 57 locations in 17 cities. Vancouver’s coffee scene has gotten stronger, but I feel like our tea economy here has had its roots a long time ago (personally for me!)

Prior the grand opening on December 8th, I had a sit down dinner at TWG Tea as well as joining their opening party where Coco Rocha was a guest of. (To be honest though, I was there for some food and an opportunity to be a little more dressed up than my typical work wear hehe.) TWG Tea still focuses on tea infused gastronomy, but their food selection has expanded and we ALL need to try everything. They’ve gone above and beyond food that to accompany your afternoon tea. Their Wagyu Burger is the bomb.

At TWG Tea, not only can you get your macarons fix and afternoon tea; there is also brunch and breakfast items- such as a Bourbon Island Crepe. There is a an assortment of pastries and a list of TWG Tea Ice Creams. You can check out the menu online; as there’s too many things I want to try to list them all out on here!

I apologize for the inconsistency in photos; I stupidly left my camera in the car and relied on my iPhone to take photos and the food tastes as good as they look! Photos not taken by me will be properly stated. Thank you to TWG Tea for inviting me and I got to bring a taste of TWG Tea to home as well. When I get a coffee table in my future home, this tea book will be the perfect desktop book for it!
I had a great time sampling the new sweets and savouries that TWG Tea will offer and their creativity never ceases to amaze me. 🙂
