No I’m not listening to Christmas carols; the Fantastic Beasts soundtrack is playing in the background though which is my kind of holiday jam. Or Hedwig’s theme. The holiday mail arrived quite early in the year (thank you imaginary Hedwig!), as I got to play around with these products since October…and now we’re only a few mere weeks away from 2017. I have an exciting post on the Mary Kay winter makeup collection, but there are also some really nice gift sets for the mother/teacher/friend!
The Satin Hands Pampering Set ($51 CAD) comes in two scents, White Tea & Citrus or Fragrance Free (which isn’t a scent. It’s a not-scent.) This trio includes the Satin Hands Protecting Softener to protect and give an extra pampering treatment to your hands. The next step after using the softener is the Satin Hands Satin Smoothie Refining Shea Scrub to buff away any flakes and impurities. Lastly, finish with the Satin Hands Nourishing Shea Cream. I usually would just wear hand cream and call it a day, but now that it’s winter; my hands are extra dry (my hair is SO static-y,) and I can literally feel a difference after scrubbing and creaming my hands. I prefer the White Tea & Citrus scent over fragrance free, but if you like to use oils a lot, I find it nice to mix a scented oil with the fragrance free one so you’re essentially getting whatever scent YOU already like!
Keep your hands high maintenance, ladies (or men) – it’ll be worth it in the future!
The Be Delighted Body Wash and Body Mousse Gift Set ($36 CAD) smells incredible; with notes of Fuji Apple, Raspberry Chiffon, and Tonka Bean. I’m assuming Raspberry Chiffon as in like chiffon PIE, which I am 100% on board with. The Body Mousse has a nice whipped texture that is absorbed quite quickly. If you find a lotion is too light and body butter to be too greasy, the Be Delighted Body Mousse might be your cup of tea. To prolong your scent, finish the shower with Be Delighted Shimer Mist ($18 CAD.) I’m not a shimmer mist person, but layering on scents makes it last longer and I would love to delight people with this scent. By all means, walk around like a glistening unicorn, nobody will judge! ?
A great travelling companion in your makeup bag is the Limited Edition Mary Kay Eye Brush Set ($20 CAD.) In this set you receive a miniature size eye colour brush, eye smudger brush, and eyeliner brush. For my upcoming Florida trip, I plan to carry my suitcase on the plane (Pfft pay $25 to check in my underwear and bra?! I rather spend it on coffee or a lipstick ?) so I am already packing things that are as mini as possible. If I’m going to do at Hogwarts inspired makeup looks while riding on the Hogwarts express, I think I might be relying on these guys!
