Hello Friday! Again, behind on blog reading, replying, and commenting, and pretty much blogging itself- at least it’s almost the weekend. Between fighting off a weird cold/sore throat/burning eyes and sipping tea with TWG Tea (just went to their grand opening party,) I’ve been focused on staying warm. One week ago it was still bearable outside and a week later it feels like I’ve gone to the Arctic. Constantly talking about the weather is boring, so I’m going to talk about clothes and other random stuff now.
I bought this faux fur vest last year but I only found rare occasions to bust it out. Not going to lie, half the reason I bought this is that it doubles as a backdrop for some of my Instagram flatlays or makes my product photos look fancy. I was using this in flatlay photos for a while before I bought an Ikea rug, needless, to say, my mom was finally glad I wasn’t leaving clothes lying around on a potentially dusty carpet. Wish I had the guts to wear this to work but it might be a bit too much in an engineering atmosphere. Someone might think I was trying too hard to look like a polar bear.
The choker style has been popular for some time, but I never really got into it as I didn’t know what to wear with it and how fancy I’d have to be to pull it off. Lisa Q of Sweden sent me two choker necklaces and there are TONS of ways to wear them. I’m all about bows so I tied the Knockout Bling String like a giant bow necklace.
Did you notice any wardrobe changes? I wasn’t sure which choker to wear all day so I switched out the Bling String and wore Slay around my neck. This one is probably a bit more bad a$$ and I think a nice little black dress (or blue dress, or a red dress) would look very well together. I wanted to try to change up my pose, at first my brain went all **ooh let’s pretend I’m one of the Starks with fur draped over my shoulder** to **hmm this is awkward, I’m going to put my vest back on.** Anyone else has silly thoughts while taking outfit photos? Thank goodness my friend laughed along with me as she captured these shots.
