My mood’s been a bit on the bleh side, and when I get a package from Lush, that makes me happy. Writing about bath products is almost as relaxing as taking one; because it’s very hard to have a crappy bath. Unless I find myself melting or getting some allergic reaction *knock on wood,* having a bath is not only relaxing but it’s like brain therapy. Christmas stuff is everywhere and Lush has some cute and sweet bath stuff to make your holiday hotter!
The Christmas Penguin ($7.45 CAD) is the Christmas companion for this winter (apart from a Bowtruckle, I want one all year round!) It is a bubble bar, you simply crumble it under running water. It contains bergamot oil, lemon oil, mandarin oil, and other citrusy scents that will wake you up. It is kind of like bubbling yourself in a light orange scented earl grey tea, but without the blackness of tea leaves! These are made by hand so every penguin is unique.
You don’t have to use it all in one bath, I think splitting it between two baths is ideal for decent amount of bubbles. For going more economical, you can probably get at most three baths out of it for a satisfactory amount of bubbles.
Shoot for the Stars ($6.95 CAD) Bath Bomb is THE bomb. I need to go to the store and pick a few more of these for myself. You know how in Goblet of Fire, Harry goes into the prefect’s bathroom and has the most magical bath with the Golden Egg? I feel like THIS is the type of bath that he could’ve made as JK Rowling described that the bath had epic amounts of choices but movie bath was just a bubble one. Once you drop Shoot for the Stars i the water, you get swirls of blues and purples and it really looked like a night sky. It also contains bath melts (those golden stars!) that are left floating in a sea of blue bath. There is also a shimmer in the water which was really pretty! And I am happy to report that it didn’t left any blue marks on my tub.
The bath itself was very moisturizing and left a greasy film on my skin so I had to rinse thoroughly after, or I’d feel itchy. It also had a sweet, citrusy scent – as it contains sweet caramel honey fragrance from Lush’s Honey I Washed the Kids soap and Bergamot Oil.
The Shoot for the Stars bath bomb is something I’d buy for myself, and the Christmas Penguin is what I’d gift. Personally, I’m more of a bath bomb person but the Penguin will make people go “aww!” I will definitely be going to the Lush store to see what else Christmas stuff they have (and possibly add it to my Secret Santa list!!)
For all you wondering, that’s Neville having a duel with the Christmas Penguin.
