What do you usually think of in the shower? Usually in the shower or bath, I think about really random, or really nonsensical things- like how would I run into Tom Felton on the streets in Vancouver (no jokes, the struggle is real.) This time around, I was taking mental notes of how the new Vichy Ideal Body Spa Shower Gel-Cream and Vichy Ideal Body Spa Shower Gel-Oil performed.
Between the two, I was more interested in the Spa Shower Gel-Oil ($16.95CAD) and I started testing that one first. The Spa Shower Gel-Oil contains Vichy thermal spa water and 15 mineral active ingredients and naturals oils. I was curious about this one since oil and water aren’t best of friends so how would it clean my skin when it’s wet? It’s not like a cleansing oil, but it was a smooth, thick transparent gel and had decent lather.
The Spa Shower Gel-Cream ($16.95CAD) also has Vichy thermal spa water as well as shea butter and white clay. It also smells amazing (I wish my HAIR smelled like this,) and had a thicker consistency than the Oil-Cream and I needed less of it to cover my body.
My mom tried both of the products as I left them by the shower and she told me it must be a good quality product because of the scent; and I agree- the scent of it is amazing. It’s a bit sweet and reminds me of a paradise island and if there was a body mist with this scent I’d pick it up right away. Unfortunately, the scent doesn’t really last after the wash and I still used a moisturizer after showering.
Both the Spa Shower Gel-Oil and Gel-Cream are both very gentle on the skin, both hypo-allergenic, and paraben-free. Though I did enjoy using a more luxurious product in the shower and a fan of Vichy products as a whole, I personally don’t feel the need to splurge on these for myself (definitely will make a great gift for moms and such though!)
