After going through a raging war against forehead pimples, I appreciate skincare a lot more than I did a year ago. I thought I had dry skin, and then I started breaking out and noticed that my face became like an oil spill; then after all the zits became drier than crusty bread and left red marks too. Since my skin went through stages, naturally, so did my skincare. I didn’t want to wipe out what I had, but instead I mixed Clarins Boosters with my existing routine to customize what my skin needed for that day/week/time.
Clarins launched three serums; Booster Energy, Booster Repair, and Booster Detox ($40CAD each) to combat daily beauty problems one would face. The Boosters come in small colourful bottles (15mL of product) each but a little goes a long way for these. These are serums to mix with your moisturizer, mask, or foundation and each booster have different effects to address your quick beauty problems.
Because these serums have a high concentration of active ingredients, it is recommended to mix 3-5 drops with your day or night creams rather than using them alone and directly on the skin. The Boosters are for mainly treating temporary concerns so you can use a different booster every day, however, they are not to be mixed together.
Clarins Booster Energy is enriched with ginseng extract and is used for re-energizing fatigued skin. Whenever I feel like the signs of cold starts to show up, my mom makes me ginseng tea to “relieve the heat” in me and strengthening my health. The Booster Energy is ideal for those who spend a lot of late nights binge watching tv or travelling a lot. So basically…as long as I have this I can watch as much Luke Cage and Once Upon A Time is possible tonight on Netflix.
Clarins Booster Detox contains mimosa tenuiflora extract, a Mayan medicinal plant known for its healing properties to restore damaged skin. The Booster Detox is used to fight skin discomfort and minimize the appearance of redness. The Booster Detox targets those whose skin suffers from using hard, salt, or chlorinated water, has had minor cosmetic treatments, and those who has a lifestyle of living in extreme climates and subject to sunburns.
Clarins Booster Repair uses green coffee extract to detoxify the skin. Sometimes I feel congested inside by all the lattes I consume, but I forget what it could do to my complexion. Congested skin is no fun and the Booster Repair helps add radiance to dull complexions and plumps the skin. The Booster Repair is the best choice for those who parties and indulges in fast food (this is 100%, totally me) or their skin is exposed to harsh environments.
After trying these for a month; I notice subtle changes. My skin feels plumper and I don’t look as tired. For the pink spots; I’ve been using the Booster Detox mixed with my mattifying moisturizer to use on the forehead and my complexion is slowly improving; and Booster Repair with my Clarins Multi-Active Night Cream at night and I wake up with soft and radiant skin. The Booster Energy is something I use once in a while for my day time moisturizer in hopes of keeping my skin looking fresh to the night; but I do love the Detox and Repair a lot more. I still need to use them more extensively, but so far I am having fun integrating Clarins Boosters with my day/night creams!
You can find Clarins Boosters in store or online.
