You guys know that I love watches, especially ones with a unique touch. My clothes are pretty much low key (only 1% of my outfits make it on Instagram, seriously,) and it’s thanks to neat accessories like my Cora style watch from Jord Wood Watches that add some magic to my wardrobe. I’m not the one to go for a dainty watch and I love it when women’s watches looks a bit more technical. What drew me to this particular watch is that a) the colour of the wood and b) it’s mechanical. Isn’t engineering awesome?!

Jord was found 2013 and it’s thanks to their collaboration with bloggers is how I noticed them over Instagram and piqued my interest. Each timepiece is made of natural wood. All Jord Wood Watches comes in a wooden box case, along with a cloth, a personal watch pillow (this guy get’s more VIP service than I did on my flight!) , and the links that were taken out as my watch was sized to my wrist. I measured it according to their online instructions and the watch fits perfectly on my wrist.
There are a few styles under women’s watches but the Cora got me right away. You can get the Cora style in six colours; Koa and Rose Gold, Maple & Silver, Maple & Lavender, Zebrawood and Rose, Purpleheart & Mother of Pearl, and Zebrawood & Turquoise. I chose the Purpleheart & Mother of Pearl as it is versatile to complement all my outfits and I don’t have any watch with this unique shade of purple-brown, let alone it being made out of wood! Purpleheart wood is sourced from Solomon Islands and you can see its natural straight lines on it up close.
The watch has seven swarovski crystals as markers and has a deployment buckle with a push button for clasping it around the wrist.I have quite a small wrist and the face of the watch fits very well against my arm; not too big or not too small. I was so surprised how smooth the wood is! I wasn’t expecting to wear an actual tree around my arm, but I would’ve never guessed the material is wood unless I looked at it.
Jord Wood Watches has the tiny details pat down; even the crown of the watch has a “J” imprint.
As it its a mechanical watch, it means I will never have to worry about getting a battery replaced! The watch does need to be re-winded as you lose accuracy throughout the day (+/-3 seconds per day.) The watch shows the time that is faster than the time on my iPhone; but hey, at least I won’t ever be late again! The face of the watch as a small cutout and you can see some of the gears. When the watch is flipped over, you can see the wheels, the springs…I get so giddy looking at this every time. The craftmanship is glorious.
The Cora is splashproof, this is definitely off when I’m at the gym or washing the dishes. To clean the natural wood, the best products to use are lemon or orange oil extract.
One of the outfits I threw together at Harrison Hot Springs outfit was this black off the shoulder top (can also be worn on shoulder,) with jeans. This is one of the few times where I’m out of town and enjoying nature, seemed fitting to wear my Jord Wood Watch and take pictures here! Overall, my experience with Jord Wood Watch was fantastic; their quality from packaging to the product is phenomenal. I really encourage getting a mechanical watch; they’re so complicatedly beautiful. The Cora watch is so stylish and gorgeous, if I left the house without my watch my wrist feels naked!
