Having been introduced to the Palmer’s brand recently, I have no complaints so far given their quality and price. One of the problem is that you can purchase them at Walmart and the closest Walmart is 30-45 minute drive away (and one time I crossed another bridge by accident and ended up in Delta (another city for those non-Vancouver based readers) and let’s just say that feeling of panic is something I DON’T want to feel again.) So I’m super grateful to try more from Palmer’s; this time their Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil and the Skin Therapy Oil for face is definitely a great duo. (And there’s a giveaway, yay!)
Where do you find a decent oil cleanser that costs $7.99?! Palmer’s Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil does a pretty impressive job for what you pay for (I can’t imagine spending $30-$40 on an oil cleanser. I JUST CAN’T!!) The Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil claims to to remove makeup without stripping and drying out your skin, nor does it clog pores. I’m not an expert in oil cleansers, but in general I find that oil based things are the last to dry out the skin anyway.
Key ingredients in this product are: grapeseed, jojoba, and rosehip oil, and of course cocoa butter. Cocoa butter is a natural moisturizer and I’ve tried Palmer’s Cocoa Butter lotions before that felt very nourishing!I just started to hear more about rosehip oil recently and they contain essential fatty acids, Vitamin C, and Vitamin A to rejuvenate the skin. The Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil is also mineral oil free, sulfate free, and paraben free.
The Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil comes in a 190mL pump bottle. Overall, it is very efficient in rinsing off that greasy sunscreen feeling and that gross foundation that has been on my skin for 12+ hours. I particularly like using this right before I shower since I sometimes don’t moisturize my face after cleansing. My skin feels soft after using an oil cleanser. For heavier makeup application, I needed a few more pumps for a thorough rinse or I would use micellar water to cleanse first, then follow up with the Cleansing Oil for a complete rinse.
I saw Palmer’s Skin Therapy Oil for the face on a buzzfeed post that did a summary on inexpensive facial oils. So when I was sent one to try, I did a little happy dance. (I read way too much buzzfeed sometimes, it’s my guilty pleasure!!!)
Using face oil is no stranger to me and I was curious about this one since a)it costs $9.99 and b)it contains Vitamin E AND retinol. I want to drench my whole body in this then; I almost wanted to start putting it on my chest! Retinol (aka Vitamin A) not only acts as an anti-aging ingredient but it’s also great for acne. I’ve been loading this nightly on my forehead and my bumply skin clears up when I tried it. Not saying my pimples vanish overnight, but I can see a decrease in redness and clusters of bumps on my forehead.
The Skin Therapy Oil for face also contains pure cocoa butter and ten essential nourishing oils: sweet almond oil, sesame oil, coconut oil, rosehip oil, macadamia nut oil, apricot oil, grapeseed oil, camelina oil, sunflower oil, and argan oil. If you’re allergic/sensitive to roses, sorry you can’t use it- the oil is really lovely and I love the light rose scent when I put it on my face! Also, it contains Cetesomate-ETM Complex which will makes the oil penetrate through the skin easier and speed up the absorption.
How do they pack all that in for $10?! I do not know. I can’t say if it’s helping with my anti-aging journey yet, but it leaves my skin feeling soft! I use it at night with my moisturizer and it never feels like too much on my skin.
Sorry I’ve been super busy lately, but I AM running an awesome contest! Three Canadians will have the chance to win a prize package containing both the Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil and Skin Therapy Oil for Face! This contest will start from today (July 13, 2016) to July 30
