Sorry guys, I’ve been busy prepping/planning for Comic Con (which is happening in LESS than two weeks!) so I’ve kind of put my blog second on my priority list! I have a LOT of reading/catching up to do with my favourite blogs!
Amidst of all the hustling and bustling I’ve been doing, a nice shower is something I look forward to end of the day. And one of my favourite parts of showering is scrubbing away my rough and dead skin cells and be left with smooth, buttery skin that shines under the sun. My latest exfoliating discovery involves BVspa by Bon Vital. Bon Vital was found in 1988 (that’s 28 years!) and only until recently have I been aware of this brand! The BVspa line focuses on delivering luxurious spa quality products that a consumer can use at home. Since I can’t really see myself shelling out big bucks for a spa treatment, I love DIY-ing my own at home spa experience in my little yellow lit bathroom. The two products I got to try from BVspa is the Sugar Scrub and the Salt Scrub.
Each Salt Scrub and Sugar Scrub comes in three fragrances: Pomegranate & Acai Berry, Lavender & Rosemary, and Pink Grapefruit. Lavender is used a lot in aromatherapy and I love herbal scents; I preferred it over the Pomegranate & Acai Berry. Salt scrubs are more abrasive than sugar scrubs due to partial size, and though I like my scrubs as rough as possible, I actually preferred the BVspa Sugar Scrub over the Salt Scrub.
The Sugar Scrub in Lavendar & Rosemary uses sugar, safflower seed oil, olive oil, and jojoba oil. Safflower Seed Oil is used for extra dry skin as it acts as a protective barrier to prevent water from leaving the skin. As it is more gentler, it can be used on the neck, tops of hands, and all over the legs and arms.
The Salt Scrub in Pomegranate & Acai Berry also contains the key ingredients of olive oil and jojoba oil. It also uses Dead Sea Salt; it is no ordinary salt you sprinkle in your food. Dead Sea Salt also removes toxins that obstruct the pores of the skin. This helps the skin breathe while also stimulating circulation. It also contains magnesium, potassium, and bromides which helps with anti-aging.

Overall, I really enjoyed both the Salt Scrub and the Sugar Scrub. They both left my skin feeling smooth and smelling great. The scrubs are quite thick so I can only slowly squeeze out chunks at a time, but that’s not a big deal for me. (Most of my scrubs are in tubs (hey that rhymed!) but sometimes I’m in the middle of my shower and my hands are wet, I dip my wet hands in a tub and it waters down my product.) Plus, these are $11.99 CAD; definitely very happy about that as it fits my I-like-to-save-money-and-will-never-afford-a-house lifestyle.
BVspa by Bon Vital is available for purchase at Shoppers Drug Mart.
