Yay Friday! I’m going to spend this weekend replying to your comments and catch up on blog reading! Love being an at home hermit. 🙂
For someone who dislikes relaxing on a beach, I adore nautical/sea themed things. There are so many things I own with anchors on them; just like how I have shirts with pineapples on them but I don’t eat pineapples. The Come Sail Away Limited Summer Collection by Paul & Joe makes me “awww;” kudos to those who design the look of them! I have the Silky Pressed Powder, the Face & Eye Color Palette, and their purrrfect Lipstick L to share with you!

The Silky Pressed Powder ($48 CAD) comes with a cute pouch (unsure if the pouch is made from silk though, I was looking on the box but couldn’t find information.) The packaging is a bit bulky and I wish it was a little flatter/less chubby so it’s easier to hold. The design is super cute and fun, love how Paul & Joe plays around with their art. I actually never really powder my T-Zone throughout the day, I usually use a paper towel and blot in the washroom for #MaximumLaziness. Once I got this, I’ve been bringing it with me in my purse almost everywhere since the compact is cute on the outside and pretty on the inside.
It comes with a white puff that is super soft (my only concern is using this over liquid foundation and it’ll transfer on it.) When I got my makeup done at the Shoppers Drug Mart Gala, the makeup artist said Paul & Joe are known for how finely milled their powder is. On the powder is a pretty floral embellishment. There are two colours available; Pink (001) and Multi-Beige (002.) I have the pale pink shade; even though my skin tone is more yellow, the pale pink hue is invisible enough when I puff it on my face.
I personally have no problem with talc so far, but the first ingredient on the list IS talc for the pressed powder. There is also a floral scent that can be a bit too much if you have a sensitive nose. I suspect the scent is coming from the Orange Flower Water. Other ingredients that are included in the Silky Pressed Powder are Jojoba Seed Oil, Rosemary Extract, Apricot Kernel Oil, and Sunflower Oil.
The Face & Eye Colour Palette ($36 CAD) contains a highlighter, blush, and bronzer shade. There is a total of three shades; Sunshine & Sand (001), Coral Garden (002) and Come Sail Away (003.) I currently have 001 Sunshine & Sand. I love the yellow highlighter as it made my skin look naturally dewy! The pink is a light cool toned shade and the bronzer is a coppery brown shade with pretty good pigmentation. The palette is quite slim and light; easy to carry in your purse. Wish there was a big mirror for it though!
The yacht inspiration is super cute!
The cutest of the bunch is saved for last! (I feel like I’m overly using the word cute here, but Paul & Joe collection is just so precious!) Like all the other Paul &Joe lipsticks, the case and the inside is sold separately. For Summer 2016, there are two available lipstick cases – Lipstick Case A 001 ($7 CAD) ; which is this navy and white combo. The shade 002 is a light blue and white case.
Three limited edition cat lipsticks, Lipstick L Refills ($20 CAD,) are available. I have Shade 003 in Ahoy! – a bright pink shade. The inner cat part of the lipstick provides a rich, shiny lip colour and the outer part contains Jojoba Oils, Cocoa Seed Butter, and White Lily Extract to moisturize the lips and prevent irritation. Even when you continue to use the lipstick, that cat imprint is there to stay- this design is based off a Japanese candy making method!
So sad this cat lipstick got kind of defaced by accident before I got to take a photo of all its glory. (The lid protecting it fell out in my bag and lipstick was everywhere!) If you like moisturizing lip balm/lipstick hybrids; this is a fun thing to use during the summer (and any seasons!) Plus, if you like cats this this is even better!
Here I am wearing Lipstick L in Shade 003 Ahoy, as well as the Face & Color Palette 001 on my cheeks. The palette and lipstick shades complement each other pretty well!
I love Paul & Joe’s cattitude with their new releases and if you have a mewment of time, definitely check them in stores before they’re gone after summer! I had some trouble thinking of some cat puns, I hope you find them clawesome!
You can purchase Paul & Joe products at your local Shoppers Drug Mart or on their Beauty Boutique website.
