Launching this month is a new body care line from Bio-Beaute by Nuxe. If you like lemony scents and organic ingredients, then it might be worth checking out the 24 Hr Refreshing Deodorant and the Toning & Nourishing Satin-Touch Oil. The press package that came in the mail also had a few lemons, but my dad used them before I could include them in the post. 🙁
One of the main features of these new body care launches is that it is a certifed organic range and combines Corsican Citron extract and organic botanical oils. Corsica is an island in the Mediterranean Sea and citrons are one of the representative crops. Bio-Beaute by Nuxe sourced their citrons from organic producers where no treatments were applied to the fruits and they were harvested by hand. The Coriscan Citron’s oil extract is created by maceration (breaking down the solid by using liquid- the citron was broken down with organic sunflower oil for 12 hours.) The oil extracts contains essential fatty acids (omega 6) from sunflower oil and they contain anti-oxidant and toning properties. The Bio-Beaute by Nuxe range has a unique scent of a combination of seven essentail oils: Lemon, Tahiti Lime, Orange, Petitgrain, Exotic Verbena, white Grapefruit, and Red Cedar.
The Toning & Nourishing Satin-Touch Oil ($26 CAD) is ideal for massaging but I’ve been using it as a post-shower moisturizer and as a skin illuminator before I go out. I like reflecting my arms off light…and seeing a nice sheen to it makes me think my skin looks healthy. The oil adds a welcoming glow!! It gets absorbed pretty quickly and my mom loves lathering it all over her skin too. The Satin-Touch Oil contains Corsican Citron Extract and Organic Sesame Oil (sourced from Mali)- which is rich in Vitamin E and omega 9. Will definitely repurchase this one again!
I don’t do deodorant ,except on the feet (TOO MUCH INFORMATION?! I’m sorry….) My feet are sweatier than them pits and I need to create a mini Great Wall of China on my feet when I go barefoot in my Skechers. Or maybe tag a ‘biological hazard’ on my shoes when I go out. So I had to test the 24HR Refreshing Deodorant ($13 CAD) on my feet rather than my armpits, since I don’t really need deodorant there. The deodorant feels a bit wet for a while so I had to let it air dry for half a minute. To me, the scent is a bit weird; it’s a combination of lemonade and laundry detergent, but since it’s on my feet I don’t smell it and it’ll smell better than what Mother Nature bestowed upon me.
The deodorant contains 10 essential oils (lemon, orange, patchouli, cardamom, clove, gaiac wood, cedar, elemi, bucchu, sandalwood) plus 5 floral waters (lavendar, rosemary, sage, peppermint, and lemon balm.) It also has starch powder to reduce moisture (YES!!) and aloe vera. The formula is alcohol and aluminum salt free.
My feet does not smell like a nuclear bomb at the end of the day. Case closed.
This is my first time trying the Bio-Beaute by Nuxe range and I am excited to try more; there’s also a Toning & Exfoliating Gel that I’m considering to pick up! You can purchase Bio-Beaute by Nuxe exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart.
