Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA!! I’ve been feeling under the weather, plus had a small kerfuffle with Expedia for TD regarding my flight to San Diego for Comic Con… and let’s just say I won’t be purchasing flight tickets from them anytime soon.
Needless to say.. stress and lack of sleep have caused my skin to be the crappiest of crap and after coming home I barely want to brush my teeth, let alone wash my face! Seriously…sometimes I end up falling asleep on my bed and haven’t washed my face nor brushed my teeth and end up doing that at 2am. I am always looking for quick ways to cleanse my skin, from makeup wipes to cleansing-toners! And of course, can’t forget about handy dandy micellar water. It all started with Bioderma and now drugstore brands have been producing micellar water solutions too. The latest one I received to try is Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water.
Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water ($9.99 CAD) is a make up remover using Micellar Technology. If you aren’t familiar with micellar water makeup remover, here’s a quick Micellar Water 101 lesson! Basically there are tiny molecules called micelles that act as a cleansing agent. These molecules form a cluster and they catch the makeup, dirt, and sebum when applied to the skin and lift them away. I kind of imagine a bunch of nano sized balloons on my skin and they fly away with the gunk and stuff from my skin.
The formula is oil free, alcohol free, and fragrance free and it is suitable for all types of skin. I like the fact that you can use it to refresh and cleanse the skin quickly even if you’re not removing makeup. I normally just cleanse my skin in the morning and night, but when I come home from work and don’t want to jump into my full night time routine yet, I just use micellar water to take away that sweaty/dirty/oily layer. It says no rinsing is required, but when I’m removing a full face of makeup, I feel a bit of tackiness left on my skin and I still use a cleanser afterwards.
I soak a round cotton pad and it easily melted my Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, mascara, and under eye concealer with no irritation. It also helps me so much in removing clay masks!
Don’t care how I might be wasting the micellar water….removing clay masks dyes all my face towels grey and I have the worst time trying to un-Weeping Angel myself (get that Doctor Who reference?!!)
This makeup remover is simple, effective, and affordable. If you’re a fan of micellar water and probably started out with Bioderma’s micelle solution; the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water is easy to love. (PLUS, at $9.99 per bottle is a steal!! Imagine when it goes on sale.)
