Sometimes I want to smell good, at times I want to smell pretty. Yes, there is a fine line between the two. Laundry smells good. Pho smells good. But to smell feminine, clean, and inviting, that’s a wee bit different. I don’t use perfume on most days (don’t want to make all the people in my office go all sniffly,) I rely on body washes + body lotions to create my fragrance. THEFACESHOP actually created a line that works just like that; their Perfume Seed products contain perfume capsules for a lasting fragrance.
THEFACESHOP Perfume Seed Capsule Body Wash contains rosehip oil and it makes my skin feel squeaky clean after rinsing it off. When I pumped out some body wash to use, I could never get any of the pink capsules inside. So I removed the top and took a small ball and squished it to confirm my suspicions – it’s a ball of scent. It reminds me of the fruit boba when you get frozen yogurt, biting into a mango boba and tasting mango juice..mmmm. The second ingredient on the list is Sodium Laureth Sulfate; doesn’t bother me but I understand that some people would want to stay away from that ingredient.
To maximize fragrance, always layer scents. I’ve learned that on Youtube a long time ago and take it to heart if I want to smell consistently fresh. The Perfume Seed Velvet Body Milk is quite watery/not as creamy as I expected for a body milk, but it left my skin feeling smooth and most importantly, smelling wonderful. Although it contains shea butter and rosehip oil, it’s not as rich as a body butter, but since the the weather is getting warmer, it’s the perfect time to use a body moisturizer with this texture. No stickiness and quickly absorbed into the skin.
I didn’t specifically mention it, but yes they smell like roses (in case anyone didn’t catch that. They don’t smell like avocados or apples or anything else.) Rose scents can be tricky but it is not overwhelming unless you put your nose on your hand for a long period of time. Even using this duo before I sleep, I can still detect a soft rose fragrance after 7 hours!
THEFACESHOP Perfume Seed body products are focused on providing a lasting scent rather than extreme hydration. If you have normal-dry skin it would be great, if you have very dry skin you probably want to find something else. The Perfume Seed duo are a great alternative if you don’t like buying perfume/stopped buying perfume since you never finish (I fall into this category!)
I can’t find the prices of these; THEFACESHOP website seems to be not updated – but you can find the Perfume Seed line at your local THEFACESHOP retailer.
