Lately, I’ve been one uncontent woman. I thought increasing my time at the gym or sitting in a coffee shop would ease my concerns, but today the smallest thing set me off. Luckily when I go into this mode, I do some massive room cleaning and the mom was happy. Another thing that’s makes me feel better is numbers. Whether it’s adding up my expenses of the year, going through my spending tracker, or living through the 80-20 rule: 80% of your output comes from 20% of your input. More than 20% of my time goes into my blog, but am I getting the output I want?
Forget about all that; I’m here to talk about a different numbers- the 6040. No it’s not some number for the meaning of life, but it certainly has been adding some flair to my life. 6040 is one of the watch collections at Original Grain and boy do they make the most beautiful handcrafted wood and steel watches.
Original Grain uses wood and stainless steel to create their watches; they have partnered with Trees for the Future and they strive to plant 1 million trees in 2016. For every watch sold, Original Grain will plant ten trees.
“We sustainably source the finest wood from various places around the world. Maple from the USA, Vera Wood from Argentina, Pau Rosa from Africa, Ebony from Indonesia, and of course our trademark whiskey watch made with authentic American Oak reclaimed from whiskey barrels.”
I received the 6040 Zebrawood/Rose Gold watch and it came packaged beautifully in this wooden box. The 6040 has a diameter of 40mm and a case thickness of 10mm. It features all natural zebrawood and Japanese Miyota Quartz Movement. The case uses a scratch resistant Mineral Crystal Glass (I’ve banged it a couple times by accident, NO WORRIES THERE.) Leather watch straps weaken me and this combination of leather, rose gold, and wood is absolutely stunning. These pictures does not do it justice. My mom, who loves to critique my lack of style, saw me wearing it around and said it was a nice watch choice.
The 6040 is one of the most unique watches I’ve laid my eyes on and I don’t have anything similar like.
Is it weird that I sort of have been dressing around my new arm candy? Whenever I put on my 6040- my outfit or accessory choices will usually have some gold details too. Back ten years ago, I was going for silver all the way but I like gold looks on me. Or am I just getting old?
The 6040 has been adding a bit more ‘oomph’ to my casual outfits and its high quality build and mature style is something that I’ve been seeking. Also- Original Grain started through Kickstarter and whenever I look at this watch, I do believe hard work will prevail!
If you’re looking for a timepiece, whether for men or women- check out Original Grain for a style that will not disappoint.
