There are period where I’d constantly change my polish, and days where I just let nails go naked. And the days where my nails aren’t wearing any pretty clothing, they look like a broken old shell glued onto my nails. Sometimes I’ll just wear a clear coat, sometimes I’ll whip out my Emjoi MICRO Nail. Shiny nails under a few minutes? Yeah, it’s possible.
The MICRO Nail ($59.99CAD) is an electric polisher that buffs your nails and shines them within seconds. My nails are really weak when I remove my nail polish and I usually get layers of my nail flaking off, which I end up cutting and left with some ridges on my nails. Smoothing out those ridges are now easy with the MICRO Nail!!
In the box; you get 2 AA batteries, two MICRO Smooth Rollers (in grey) and two MICRO Shine Rollers (in white.) The Smooth rollers leaves your nails even albeit dull. To fix that, you switch the roller to the Shine roller which buffs your nails and creates a natural shine.
You flip the switch on and glide the rollers on your nail for 1-2 seconds. The Smooth Rollers rotate 1800 times per minute and there is a pressure sensor so if you press too hard; it will stop. I was a bit clumsy AS USUAL, and accidentally brushed it on my skin but no harm was done and no pain was felt.
After using the Smooth rollers, I gave my nails shine with the Shine rollers. Again, I used the MICRO Nail on each nail (take a shot every time I say nail) for two seconds and little did I know this would give me 2 weeks of shine, even after removing my nail p0lish. I buffed and shined my nails before painting 3 layers of nail polish (and no base coat.) After wearing the nail p0lish for 5 days, I removed them and my nails were STILL shiny after!
I posted a before and after shot using the MICRO Nail- you can evidently see how much shinier my nails are! It is recommended to use the MICRO Nail every two weeks (you don’t want to keep weakening the layers of your nails if you use it too often!)
For a working girl who is too cheap to go to a salon for an actual manicure, I am very impressed with the MICRO Nail. I think after removing my dark red polish and to see my nails still look as great before applying polish actually made me think – oh hm this machine is better than I expected! Goodbye nails that peel like an onion! Hello nails that are smooth as Humpty Dumpty!
