Though I do want to use more natural beauty products, I like convenience which is why I don’t particularly go out and find natural beauty products. As part of the Canadian Beauty Bloggers network, I’ve had the chance to experience more natural beauty products this year than all my other years of blogging combined. Canadian brand Nature’s Pure Bliss is a family owned business committed to create high quality natural skincare and hair care products that are vegan, fair trade, organic and primarily nut-free products (except for shea butter.)
I wanted to try out the Alligator Butter ($17 for 4oz, $30 for 8oz)- mostly because of the name and that cute little picture on the label. I’m so vain sometimes. The Alligator Butter is targeted for those who have dry to extreme dry skin.
Key Ingredients (via Nature’s Pure Bliss)
The cell-rejuvantor Mango Seed butter, promotes elasticity and rich in antioxidants, Vitamin A and E.
Cold Pressed Pumpkin Seed oil, excellent source of Omega 3 and 6, Vitamin A, B,D and E. Assit in replenishing moisture loss.
Cold Pressed Tamanu Oil, contains nutrients and proteins, promoting healthy skin. Excellent in treating eczema and other skin irritations.
Cold Pressed Avocado Oil contains Vitamins A, B1, B2, D, E, and Beta carotene. A monounsaturated oil best suited for dry skin.
When I first unscrewed the lid, the spicy scent hit me. I was totally cool with it, mom wasn’t. The scent is due to a mix of Litsea, Vanilla, Bergamot, and Ginger essential oils. It reminded me of a very spicy Chai tea latte; I never had a spicy one but I would imagine it would smell just like this Alligator Butter.
Hydration wise, this is TOP NOTCH body butter. I might not even call it body butter- maybe body cream cheese, what’s richer than a body butter?! I say this because when I applied it, the texture of this butter becomes an oil and then my skin absorbs it and then abracadabra…my skin looks glowy and feels soft. The first time I used it, I used too much as I didn’t expect it to melt into an oil. Since then, I’ve been scooping smaller chunks to use on my body.
I’ve been shaving my legs (mainly the bottom part where my skin is exposed after I wear my workout leggings,) and my skin gets noticeably flaky. Alligator Butter heals that right away and takes away that shaving itch too! I may not have alligator skin (yet) but I have confidence that Nature’s Pure Bliss Alligator Butter would whip that problem away.
The Alligator Butter may not be everyone’s first pick due to it’s original scent and its oily texture. I just want my skin to be illuminating when I wear my short sleeves and I have to thank this little guy for feeding my body with such rich hydrating qualities. This really is unlike any other body butter I’ve tried and the fact that it’s found in Canada makes it better!
