It’s been a while since I’ve had a non Asia trip, and even though I was still travelling within Canada, Toronto had as many things to explore just as any other cities I’ve been a tourist in. I think one of my favourite aspects in Toronto was the architecture, there’s always a bit of the old city mixed with new. Buildings with cobblestone walls with a tall, glass skyscraper beside it- it’s something I don’t see much of in Vancouver.
I stayed at Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel- a pretty central location. I chose this hotel as it was close to my food goals (priorities!) as well to Toronto Eaton Centre (which was very similar to Vancouver malls anyway,) and a 8 minute walk to Toronto Fashion Week. A fairly good planning job; I pat myself on the bag.
What I didn’t know was the giant, 3D TORONTO sign at Nathan Phillips Square. My hotel room was looking down to this view. Of course I got to take a tourist-y snap of this, there was a lot of people (as it’s also a skating rink!) I would’ve loved a skate if I had time but holy eff, I was already freezing while not being on ice.
Beside the skating rink was the Old City Hall of Toronto. I got some London Palace of Westminster vibes from it. And when I travel, OOTDs are bound to happen and I especially can care less about people wondering wtf am I doing. On my first day in Toronto the weather was bearable. Black and white is one of the safest combinations out there; and I complemented my almost all monochrome outfit with navy knee high boots.
The knee high boots paired with shorts/skirt combo is a trend that I haven’t gotten comfortable in Vancouver, but in another city? Yes!
I haven’t fully appreciated my knee high boots until now, while wearing thin tights against the wind, my legs needed some major wind breaking protection. As I have never been a clothing brand hunter, my coat was sourced from my mom and my black shorts were from some sketchy alleyway China store.
This is going to sound ignorant..but as I wrap up this post..I realized I don’t even know where the Vancouver City Hall is. Near Broadway City Hall skytrain station, I assume.
