Writing about skincare products is not easy for me; I usually have to take notes after observing my face and feels after using products with no visible evidence to show. However, this time it’s a bit different! Recently, GM Collin reached out to me on trying a few of their skincare products; I haven’t heard of them and shame on me, as they are a Montreal based skincare company. Their products, which are derived from natural plant and marine extracts, target various skin types and conditions- I received a few products for combination skin and dry lips.
When you’re not wearing makeup and someone asked what you did to your skin to make it look more glowy…the product must be working its mysterious house elf magic. The only new product I added to my routine was the GM Collin Essential Oils Complex, which made my skin look dewy. It has to be shaken before used and it has a scent that is like a mix of tea tree oil and mint.
Originally when I saw the package that said “Essential Oils Complex” I thought I was going to see a mix of different oils. Instead, I got a bottle of some green liquid that is meant for oily to acne prone skin. I didn’t read the instructions on the box and I was applying it OVER my moisturizer as a last step, where as the Essential Oils Complex is to be used after cleanser/toner. My inability to follow instructions worked out though as it kept my skin looking radiant throughout my average work day!
This is a fluid that helps make the skin look matte; which I’ve been using on my nose, but it made my face look more healthy; this could be due to the presence of essential oils. If you don’t like using facial oils, I think this is a pretty good substitute to get the benefits of facial oils without that slick feeling (I’ve been telling people that facial oils in general are amazing but people don’t believe it!)
One of my skincare concerns that I mentioned to GM Collins was dry lips (not a new story, you’ve seen some of my photos with dry lips right?! Or you’ve seen me in real life and my lips are molting like a penguin.) I received the Lip Plumping Complex; this is a lip gloss type of product that contains collagen microspheres and hyaluronic acid to relump the lips and improve on their appearance. My lips might already be at max on the “plump scale,” and didn’t notice any changes in size. What I did see was: less visible lip lines and dry flakes disappearing. Not to mention the silky feel of the Lip Plumping Complex on my lips; no stickiness whatsoever.
I’m not sure if those collagen microspheres are working its way in or not, but it made my lips healthy and me happy.
So far my impressions with GM Collins skincare is pretty good. Their packaging is a bit simple, but I could see noticeable changes in my appearance after using the Essential Oils Complex and the Lip Plumping Complex. By the way, did I mention, both of these products were made in Canada (like me!) GM Collins are sold only in spas, you can use the spa navigator on their website to find a retailer! This is my first part of reviewing GM Collins products (yes there will be more so stay tuned!)
