As Valentines Day is slowly creeping up and if you want to shy away from the traditional gifts, a more practical AND chic gift idea would be a pair of Sudio earphones. Stylish, clean and sleek- how can one resist a beautiful piece of technology?!
Being a frequent commuter and having the privilege to listen to music during work, I am used to having earphones on me at all times. Not only are they good to keep me entertained, they’re also really useful when it comes to avoiding strangers. I’ve been using my Apple earphones for a long time (and I think most people can agree they are rubbish,) and so glad to have switched to the oh-so-pretty Sudio earbuds.
Sudio is a Swedish lifestyle brand that focuses on elegant earphones and studio quality sound for less than retail price. My brother always bragged about his $200 earphones but I know I would stay far away from a price like that (that’s a few Tom Ford lipsticks I’d rather buy!)
The three best collections of Sudio are VASA, Klang, and Tva. Klang ($60) is particularly made for Apple products, which is the one I chose to feature and review. The Klang earphones features one side of the cord to be longer than the other, the longer side receives support from the neck that prevents the earphones from being pulled out. The Sudio Klang earphones also comes with a leather pouch, four pairs of earbud sleeves, Owner’s Manual and Quality Assurance Card, and a metal clip.
- Type: 10.0 mm Dynamic Speaker
- Sensitivity: 102 dB SPL @ 1 kHz
- Impedance: 32 Ohm @ 1kHz
- Frequency Response: 20 Hz – 20 kHz
The three buttons on the Klang earphones’ cord has impressed me; you have your standard volume high/low button but with the magical middle button, you can pause/play your music with one push. Two pushes allow you to skip to the next song and three pushes lets you go back to the previous song. Even better, you can also access Siri by pushing down the middle button, fast forward the song by pushing down the button twice (hold the second push longer,) or rewind the song by pushing down the button three times (hold the third push longer.) I never bothered with Siri but with this feature, I might actually start saying “Call Mom” to my phone.
I can spend half the train ride listening to Backstreet Boys “I Want It That Way” and this feature made it SO much easier than me taking out my phone and touch my screen!
Knowing myself, I have a sinking feeling that the white pouch and/or the white earbud cords may go dirty soon but the gold/white aesthetic is gorgeous and stylish! I also love the thick, flat cord so nothing gets tangled. When my brother saw me using them he thought I was just trying to be fashionable, then he checked them online and was quiet after feeling the defeat. The sound quality is great; my music is sharp and although I wouldn’t say it does noise cancelling, it blocks out most of the outside noises (sorry annoying person on the train, can’t hear ya!)
Sudio’s Klang earphones fits my lifestyle perfectly, and looks good while doing so (ugh, don’t I sound shallow here, haha- but pretty earphones are a bonus right?! I like my keyboard not only for its functionality, but it lights up.) If white/gold isn’t your colour, there is also orange, brown, and black. I use earphones on a daily basis so it HAS to be meet a certain standard of mine and I can surely say Sudio crushed it. *cue Pitch Perfect soundtrack*
Sudio Sweden earphones is a present that could be gifted to either gender- and they will last longer than that box of chocolates for sure! They also offer free worldwide shipping! If you are interested to purchase a pair for your special someone (or for yourself)- Sudio is offering a 15% promo code modernvalentine for my readers!
