I’m back! I hit the lazy button and took a small break from blogging (more like watching the anime Your Lie In April.) The Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix Eyeshadow Palette was everywhere last year and I finally had the time to sit down, play with it, and paint my arms over and over again with a whopping 24 colours!
Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner is my to-go-forever eye liner so of course I’m going to be a curious cat with her eyeshadows, 24 of them! When I slid it out of the box, I can only think- my cosplaying makeup looks are going up another level! The palette slides out of the cover of the box; not the most carry-able friendly product; at least it’s flat enough to stack my other palettes on?
The Mi Vida Loca palette ($71 CAD) comes with seven neutral shades and 17 colourful shades. The neutral colours are more of my everyday colours, whereas the bright and metallics aren’t my everyday wear (but cosplay wear? yes!) Some of the matte shades came off chalky and dry, but the colour payoff is amazing!
My favourites are lemmy, harpsichord, and ballad. Having too much shimmer and colour is a bit too much for my liking so I’m pretty satisfied that there a quite a few matte finishes! I was a tad bit confused about the names…I am not musically knowledgeable enough!
I took these pictures before I left for Hong Kong; I apologize- I can’t exactly remember which shades I used! I still need some practice working with colour; but I did make a passable smokey-ish eye that looks ok under glasses.

The Mi Vida Loca is overhwelming; there are so many combinations to play with. I wouldn’t say this is a ‘must need’ palette; there are some colours I can’t really see myself ever hitting pan with this. This palette seems to be sold out now unfortunately! 🙁
For those who have this palette, what did you think? Are you a fan of Kat Von D shadows?
