Happy New Year’s Eve/ Happy New Year!! How do you usually glam up for a new year’s party? Maybe adding bits of false hair to your face?! False eyelashes is an alien territory to me. Given that my face has glasses on almost 24/7, bits of fake hair on my eyes is out of the question. But then, when the occasional time comes for me to wear contacts, I rely on careful eye makeup to widen my eyes. I get extra excited when I do a cosplay cause it practically gives me an excuse to get as much lashes as I can! Make Up For Ever released Lash Show, a line of 50 handmade false lashes and I was kindly sent one to try on.
Make Up For Ever Lash Show Lashes ($22 CAD) comes in four styles- natural volume, dramatic volume, winged, and artistic. They are made of 100% synthetic fibres and each set comes with a latex-free adhesive. The adhesive/eye lash glue has a tip like an eyeliner and it was easy to add the glue on the band of the eyelashes. I received N-305, which is under the dramatic volume style. The lashes have short thick hairs spaced between longer hairs, which is the style I usually go for (except not at that price.)
I applaud Make Up For Ever’s packaging inside; I really like how the plastic white sheet inside has a hole where the glue is sitting, so I can lock the glue and have an easier time to apply it on the band of the lashes. This made it so much more convenient than me using a squeeze bottle to add glue on the lashes or trying to balance the bottle on a flat surface or holding it.
The lashes were SIMPLE to put on and all eyelash glue should come in a container like that!! (The eyelash band is a bit thick so I had to flex it a bit to fit the contour of my eyes.) When my eyes are closed, the lashes definitely do look more dramatic. However my hooded eyelids kind of squishes the lashes and takes away the volume, which makes my lashes look natural when my eyes are opened. They do poke in my glasses (just wanted to see if I could wear them with glasses, usually never works but worth a try!)
The whole experience in applying Make Up For Ever Lash Show lashes was a breeze! I love how it looks and the quality is really good! The only drawback to me is the price is I don’t normally wear lashes enough so I can’t imagine spending over $20 on a pair. (Actually, I would invest $$ to look bomb at another Christmas party, or those once in year events where you have to make an impression. Yup.) If you’re a false eyelash aficionado you will probably enjoy these and the artistic styles are really worth looking at. Put a set of artistic style lashes on and then you can be from The Hunger Games.
