Rarely do I walk by a piece of clothing and fall in love with it. Ted Baker’s Short Wool Wrap Coat had me smitten for months before I finally tried it and bought it (as *ahem* a birthday present for myself of course.) When I was in London 2.5 years ago, I was enamoured with Ted Baker’s patterns and styles and Vancouver finally had its own store. Often I feel myself look like a girl in a wool coat, but something about this Ted Baker one adds a new sense of confidence.
This outfit was worn the day after my company’s year end holiday party (which was amazing! I felt so lucky to have made the switch to a new career this summer.) I still had my stick on KISS Gel Fantasy nails* on; though they don’t fit on my nails perfectly, they were way too pretty to be removed after one night.
Back to the coat. The purple-blue shade is a colour I often enjoy wearing; it’s not as ‘everywhere’ as black, not as attracting as red, and bright enough to add a pop of colour. Underneath I’m wearing a casual sweater and my one and only handy pair of Topshop jeans. When it’s not raining, I’ve been taking advantage of wearing suede booties.
Not going to lie, this is one of the few times where I felt a bit more confident, content… and tall(er.) While asking my friend @182bysummer to shoot for me, I got some passerbys on the sidewalk giving me awkward or kind smiles and this is one of the first times where I smile back, keep doing what I doing without feeling judged.
I believe this is the coat, now let’s hope I can meet someone as dependable as Ted Baker. 😉
