Hello! It’s me! (Sorry Adele is in my head, and when I was singing it SO badly at home, my brother thought I was singing Red Hot Chili Peppers.) Makeup looks for winter is one of my favourites; I think it’s easy to get away with red lips or looking natural. I’m still settling what to wear for my Christmas party and these Mary Kay Sheer Dimensions Powders is a possible winner. This is my first time trying Mary Kay makeup products and the ones listed in here are limited edition for the holiday season!
The Sheer Dimensions Powder ($36 CAD) acts as a blush or all over the face powder to give you a luminous glow (my favourite type of look!) The two limited edition colours are Pearls and Lace. Pearls is a pearly, frosty pink highlighter and has pearl like shapes embossed onto the palette. Lace is describes as a sunny matte coral with a lace detail on the palette. When I swatched Lace, it has some sheen to it so if you were looking for some matte blushes, this is not it. The texture has a buttery-powdery feel to it, but it was easy enough to blend them out with my Make Up For Ever #156 brush (my favourite blush brush ever!)
Both the blushes are in some kind of wavy packaging so they can’t be stacked, so storing them is a tad bit inconvenient. But the colour payoff IS incredible. I thought Pearls would be too frosty but it went through my pore-y cheeks just fine and added a subtle glow, whereas Lace complemented the pearly shine with a layer of warmth.
The other Mary Kay product going on my face is the Mineral Eye Color Quad ($19 CAD). The palette quad is housed in a plastic packaging so it would be better if you could move them to a Z-Palette or something, as this guy could fly out if you knock the plastic case over. For $19, I would’ve hoped that it would be in a nicer case, or is that asking too much?
The two limited edition shades for winter is Black Ice and Chai Latte. Chai Latte is your typical neutral quad, with a highlighter shade, a champagne shade, a light brown, and a dark brown for definition. Black Ice is my favourite of the two, with two intense shades of brown and navy, as well as a silver and a neutral highlighting shade as well. I do need a primer with these ones because they crease easily on my hooded lids + oily lids. I wonder if it’s because it’s a mineral powder? The lighter shades feel more creamy by touch and the darker shades are a bit more gritty.

I decided to take a picture of me wearing just Pearls, as it could be hard to see how it looks on it’s own once it’s blended with Lace. You can see a faint, pink sheen on my cheekbones.

I didn’t do a good job of blending in Black Ice on my eyes (it’s a miracle if I ever show you some decent eyeshadow pictures) and the colours look less pigmented on my eyes compared to my arms. That seems to ALWAYS happen to me. To complete the look, I’m also wearing NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, Dior DiorSkin Star Foundation around my nose, and Charlotte Tilbury Iconic Liquid Eye Pencil in Barbarella Brown.
Overall, I really enjoyed playing with the blushes; they’re not heavy and add some a light glow. The eyeshadow quads are a bit pricey for what they’re worth but they all go together nicely for the winter time! You can purchase Mary Kay beauty products through an independent consultant.
