Who else is on the dry train during winter? After I take my hot showers, my limbs feel like they’ve been roasted and I get that dry itch; and no I can’t do cold showers without having my nose getting runny after. And just in the nick of time, these Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula products arrived on my doorstep to save me from the coming Winter.
The trio of dry skin saviours is the Cocoa Butter Formula Lotion ($6.97 according to Walmart.ca), Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturizing Body Oil ($4.99), and Cocoa Butter Formula Soothing Oil for Dry, Itchy Skin ($5.99). These prices meets good budgeting expectations AND it was nice to see the first ingredient of the oils was not mineral oil. The one for dry, itchy skin’s first ingredient on the list is canola oil and the Moisturzing Body Oil has soybean oil.
If you enjoy body butter, then you will like the Cocoa Butter Formula Lotion; the only arguable quality could be the scent. The lotion does have a thick consistency (but slightly less than a tub of body butter) and it absorbs quickly into the skin. I have been layering it over the body oils to keep my skin more hydrated. It does have a chocolate-y sweet scent; if that’s not your thing the oils are a better option. When I was at a spa a few months ago, they had lotion in generic bottles and I could’ve sworn that they had Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Lotion because the scent was so similar and my skin was super soft after using the shower.
I rarely get itchy skin but sometimes after chilling in a hot bath for 5-6 minutes, then rinsing off and washing my hair…my legs get really itchy when I dry off. I spritzed some Cocoa Butter Formula For Dry, Itchy Skin and it TOTALLY calmed the scratching temptation I was having. The bottle is a spray bottle though; and since I have no aim whatsoever, it landed on my bathroom tiles and the counter for the first few tries before I could spritz it in the right places. It contains Cocoa Butter, Vitamin E, Collagen, Elastin, and Lecithin for softening and smoothing.
The Moisturizing Body Oil is also a bottle of amazeballs. I just got my arm hair lasered off (woot woot) and I’ve been using this oil on my arms and just gleefully feeling up my arms from time to time. The cap is also a bit annoying because the oil is kind of poured out, and when I click it shut, a bit dribbles out. But it’s like $5…I’m cool with that.
