Having fierce eyes is the thing for Fall (but I wouldn’t mind having the perfect eye makeup year round,) and Clinique has launched eye-centered products for this Autumn that any makeup beginners or experts could find useful in their kit. This year I was bombarded with many new eye makeup products and I am hooked onto making my eyes stand out behind my glasses. (Plus have I mentioned that Once Upon A Time characters have SUCH nice eye makeup??)
Let’s start with my favourite staple…liquid eyeliner! Clinique’s Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen in 01 Black ($23 CAD) has a super fine brush tip that makes it simple to line the eyes and make a perfect flick. Applying it was very smooth and leaves a semi-matte finish. After 7 hours of use, the eyeliner was intact, with the faintest of smudging on my crease (oily, hooded eyelid problems)- something I experience with most liners. I don’t think it’ll last the 24 hours as it claims to be, but one day is good enough!
With Clinique’s Chubby Lip Pencils and Chubby Sticks for eyes, having a chubby eyeliner wouldn’t fit. In comes the Skinny Stick ($20 CAD), ultra skinny eye pencils that comes in seven colours. These are retractable; no sharpener needed. As they are thin and light- they are great to throw into your bag without any extra weight! The three colours here are – 01 Slimming Black (a matte black), 03 Slim Sable (a chocolate brown shade), and 04 Olive Tint (light olive gren shade with some sheen).
The Skinny Sticks are creamy and glides on the eye easily. Unfortunately, if you have a tendency to have oily eyes; these might be not right. I used Olive Tint on my under eye and after a few hours it looked like I was a fail panda.

The Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara ($20 CAD)…it has quite a threatening looking mascara wand! Most mascaras I tried doesn’t give me much volume or thickening, usually just lengthening. I found that 2 coats did make my lashes look thicker; if I layer the mascara too fast it slightly clumped my outer lashes (but not very noticeable!) MORE importantly, my lashes held up through the day and did not experience any flaking! The colour I am wearing is Jumbo Jet (black,) but there also three limited edition colorus- Two Ton Teal, Portly Plum, and Massive Midnight. Bodacious Black Honey is a Sephora exclusive colour. With the price and formulation, the Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara floats my boat!

Bear with me friends….if you read my blog often you may have realized that I don’t ever talk about brow products so I had no clue what I was doing when I used the Just Browsing Brush-On Styling Mousse ($19 CAD). My brows are hairy enough so sustain a life of its own; if the hairs are growing in all different directions I let them be. Usually the hair near the centre of my forehead is the most sparse, so I used the mousse to tame these fuzzies. I have the colour Black/Brown which matches my natural brows. The brow hairs are slightly stiffened after and stayed put. Application was swift, perfect for someone like me who rarely gives a dang about brows. There are a total of four colours including Deep Brown, Light Brown, and Blonde.

My favourites were the Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen and the Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara. They are basic, foolproof Makeup 101 essentials that I’m sure many people would appreciate. Plus, these prices are pretty awesome too (as I REALLY need to cut back on my spending; so many bills when one is getting old.) You can shop for Clinique at their online store, Sephora, or at The Bay.
