Being in Vancouver has its ups and downs, but nevertheless, I love this city and I still have MUCH more to explore here (I still haven’t hiked anywhere but the Grouse Grind #fail.) One thing that kind of prevents me from doing more Vancouver exploring is that getting around is slightly of a hassle…commuting here isn’t the best and I’m just a horrible driver. So having box of Vancouver coming to my house? YES- and here we have the Vancity Box.
The Vancity Box contains items from BC companies; it only ships to residents of BC. If you sign up for the monthly box plan, each box costs $34.99; for a 3 month plan each box is $31, and for a 12 month plan, the box is $27. There is also a $5 flat shipping fee.
This is the first box Vancity Box launched and inside it contains a bunch of edible goodies. The first thing that caught my eye was definitely the mason jar of cotton candy from Petite Puff. I’ve seen them around Instagram and I was excited to finally get a taste! Delicious!!
There were also a pack of chocolate macaroons from Living Lotus; these are gluten free and vegan free as well! I only ever ate beef jerky that you can get at any store but I never had any local ones; there were three packs of Billy Bob’s Jerky which are perfect to keep at work (or in the purse for those hungry moments!) Lastly, I got this cool glass bottle from Graveley & Sons to make some Mortimer’s Spiced Rum. I am extremely unknowledgeable of alcohol, so I’m excited to cook up my own at home.
The Vancity Box is a neat way to get to know the city more, support local brands, and makes a great gift! This month there were many snacks in this box, but next box could include clothing, gadgets..etc! I do hope that each box will be personalized in the future; nevertheless, this kind of makes Vancouver a little more exciting, no?
