A) Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians and B) I’ve been doing a good job in not buying makeup for months now (*runs to check Instagram to confirm*) but I have been looking for new masks in the market as well as hair products. I recently had a mini haul from Lush last month and tried my first face mask from there; the Mask of Magnaminty! Masks + Netflix is my new favourite thing to do (just blew through The Mindy Project- Danny Castellano anyone??)
The Mask of Magnaminty ($12.95 for 125g) is a face and body mask that contains Kaolin Clay, Honey, Peppermint, and Ground Aduki Beans (which you can see as the brown bits that can be used as light exfoliation.) The clay draws out the dirt and the nasty stuff out of your skin. I’ve been wanting to cleanse my peppery nose yet keep it quenched-not going to lie, when I was in my (SHORT!) sad broken up phase, I blew my nose so much, there were scabs and peeling nose skin. NO man is worth having crap skin for and I was determined to fix that right up (and don’t worry guys I’m all good now thanks to you all <3 + Dark Cherry ice cream.)
Most of Lush’s masks need to be refridgerated and since I didn’t want to commute home with a mask that might go bad, I bought this “self preserving” mask that contains natural preservatives and didn’t need to be in the cold. Mask of Magnaminty is a green mask that when worn, is almost passable as The Incredible Hulk if you look angry enough. It has a peppermint smell once the lid is off and it leaves a slight tingle when I first applied it onto my skin. The mask isn’t very harsh and after leaving it on for around 20 minutes, my face was super refreshed (don’t forget to moisturize after!) The area outlining my nose ended up being slightly dry, but the rest of my face was A-ok! I like using this 15-20 minutes before I shower then wash my face and body at the same time after.
My skin has been a lot smoother after using this, and I’ve used this at least 5 times by now and there’s a lot left to go! The mask came in two sizes; I purchased the smaller of the two and I still have a lot more to use! As this is is a self preservative mask- keep any eye on the expiry date! Mine expires mid December but I think there will be no problem in me blasting through this! I will definitely be re-purchasing this one! If you used Lush face masks- which is your favourite one?
