It’s time to bust out the dark colours to prep for Fall (wear grey, black, brown every day!!!) and of course it’s time to dress up my nails too. I rarely wore nail polish in the summer so I’m making it up by starting to wear nail polish to suit the Autumn season. Oxblood (or wine red, burgundy, maroon..the whole dark-brown-red family) is always a popular choice, but I always like to add a touch of shine with some sparkly top coat. I received Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Wine Stock during the London Drugs Fall Preview event earlier this summer and paired it with Hard Candy’s Crush on Lava, a colour I was saving for sometime figuring out what to wear it with.

Not only does a layer of sparkle add dimension to the nail polish, they’re secretly used to cover up the mistakes I make in painting my nails; there’s guaranteed to be some kind of dent so just LAYER on ALL THE SPARKLE then it looks almost as good as new, except for the part where I paint outside my nail lines. Sally Hansen Miracle Gel is another one of those polishes in the drugstore market that gives you the gel look without the UV light curing. I used two coats of Wine Stock for a fully opaque look; the brush is a bit thick so painting my pinky nail was a bit of a challenge, especially with shaky hands.
Hard Candy’s Crush on Lava is multi-chrome polish- with flecks of brown, green, gold; looks so amazing! I figured that it would go amazing over a solid, dark colour. Even my mom asked me what’s on my nails.

Sparkly top coats on everything! That’s how I’m going to roll, because under the shimmer is just a massive train wreck. This was my first Hard Candy AND Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel experience and so far so good! What do you have on your nails, Fall colours, Summer colours, or naked nails??
