Sorry for taking a miniature blogging break; some out of control stuff has been happening so I had to take a step back and just..mellow out a bit. But my blog is a thing that keeps me going on, I find that having something to focus on is always good to keep my mind off other things. Summer is ending in a month and a bit, so I figure it’s time to re-explore my bronzing options. After marvelling at the Lise Watier Rivages bronzer from a post a few weeks back, I realized I have a LOT of bronzers…more than my face can handle.
My first bronzing product was the Sephora MicroSmooth Baked Foundation Face Powder, which isn’t really a bronzer but once the Sephora sales associate used this on me, I’ve been addicted to playing with other bronzers. And thus the collection started to grow….My bronzer stash includes
- Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Duo* (review here)
- Annabelle Biggy Zebra Bronzing Powder*
- Lise Watier Rivages Bronzing Powder* (review here)
- Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer
- Vincent Longo La Riviera Sun Bronzer for Face & Body* (featured in Wantable Box review here)
- Sephora MicroSmooth Baked Foundation Face Powder in #40 Tan
The more sheeny, multiple coloured bronzers in my collection are these three: Lise Watier Rivages Bronzer, Annabelle Biggy Zebra Bronzing Powder, and Vincent Longo La Riviera Sun Bronzer for Face and Body. If you are looking for a budget bronzer with a nice sheen, the Annabelle Biggy Zebra Bronzing Powder in Haute Gold ($11.99 CAD) is a good almost-dupe to the Lise Watier Rivages Bronzer. It gives you the tanned, sun kissed glow without looking over the top.
You have already heard me sing songs of praises to the Lise Watier Rivages Bronzing Powder before, it’s a HUGE sucker and comes with a $39 CAD price tag. It is a limited edition product though so it may be sold out already. The Rivages Bronzing Powder is slightly darker out of Annabelle and Vincent Longo bronzers.
If you would like to pursue another brand, Vincent Longo La Riviera Sun Bronzer for Face & Body ($32 USD) is another option. This one is more compact out of the three, it is thinner and also has a mirror and who doesn’t love a nice, sleek black compact. This one has a bit more gold to it compared to the other two here.

My next three bronzers are bit different; they don’t have the swirled colours- one of them was meant for contouring and the other bronzer is technically a face powder *shrugs.* MAKE UP FOR EVER Pro Sculpting Duo 2 Golden Beige($45 CAD) is a two shade palette that includes a golden highlighter colour and a golden brown that is meant for contouring. However, I find that it is too orange to suit my skintone unless I want to have orange shadows on me, so I have resorted to using it as a bronzer. The lightest dab with a brush is all you need to add a little glow to your cheeks.
I’ve mentioned the Too Faced Soleil Matte Bronzer Chocolate in my Summer Make Up Picks 2015 post; if you’re on the hunt for a no fuss, no mud, no orange, matte bronzer, this is it. It smells delicious and as smooth as I’d think cocoa butter would be. I redeemed my Sephora points for this perk a while back and have no regrets yet. Why oh why does the full size retail for $38 CAD?! ;_;
I KNOW it doesn’t look like I used a lot of it, but the Sephora MicroSmooth Baked Foundation Face Powder ($27.50) used to be in my daily routine and I am using it once in a while again. This is supposedly a foundation, but I got one that is several shades darker and use it as a bronzer instead. It’s buildable, it’s smooth, and another natural looking bronzer. I’m seriously considering to purchase an actual face powder to suit my skin tone in the future.

I’m dreading September since that means the bronzers might have to sit in a corner for a while *crosses fingers the sun will stay out longer.* Long story short- the Annabelle Biggy Zebra Bronzing Powder is the best bang for your buck; my other two higher end bronzing favourites are the Lise Watier Rivages Bronzing Powder and Too Faced Soleil Matte Bronzer Chocolate. I swear I am somewhat pale or yellow-y pale all year round, yet if I don’t get enough sleep my mom says I look sallow; a dash of bronzer is my favourite way to add radiance! What about you?
